....a total bullshit taxing system that will be a national sales tax on everything people buy. Regressive as hell and expensive to boot. Imagine the federal government collecting $3.0 trillion from the sales revenues of the goods and services in a U.S. economy that can barely produce $14.0 trillion now. Do the math, on top of all none federal taxes being collected at the state and local levels, the federal government proposes the collect for their needs some 20% of all goods and services produced. Right out of the little guys pocket.

The FairTax was created by first asking the American people what they wanted out of a tax system, and then having a team of respected economists design a tax system that met those demands. The FairTax replaces the income tax and all other federal taxes with a national consumption tax. The FairTax is levied only once, at the point of purchase on new goods and services. The simplicity of the FairTax frees Americans from our current overwhelming tax code and unshackles the U.S. economy.
The FairTax:
Abolishes the IRS
Closes all tax loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
Maintains our current Social Security and Medicare benefits
Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
Allows American products to compete fairly
Reimburses the tax on purchases of basic necessities
Enables retirees to keep their entire pension
Enables workers to keep their entire paycheck

That leaves workers with less pay and another level of tax on all that they consume. You have only a limited level of discretionary consumption. Just look at gasoline. How much can you cut down, no where near the amount of your demand to match the price hikes in gasoline prices, so the little guy gets hit hardest. That's regressive! And, that's what the Fair Tax is a regressive tax.
