Did General Clark extend his Fox News contract?

I remember reading on here that it ended as of May 2006. On one of the chats on his website, I pulled up this question that someone asked him about it:

Any Clarkies here know what the deal is? I wonder if he renewed for another year, or if he's going month to month?

Is continuing on with Fox a really good thing if he plans to runs again in '08?

Hello General Clark:

How are you?? :)

Also, when is your contract up at Fox? I am glad you are on Fox to reach those viewers, but I don't get Fox so don't get to see you, and am looking forward to your being on more stations.

I sometimes view the videos on your Web site and other places, but I'm also on dialup! Boo hoo.

Linda, thanks for trying to

5. I heard a brief report of a conversation with Clark someone had
This was at the fund raising event for Eric Massa in NYC a few weeks back. I gather Clark is continuing with FOX, but I didn't hear anything about the terms of the contract. I don't know if it is nominally for a year or less, or what exit clauses may be inserted in it. I think it was said CNN wasn't an available option (I really don't trust that network's just barely concealed Republican agenda). I haven't really seen any of this confirmed though.

I think Clark being on FOX has increased the chances for a Democrat to get elected President in 2008, and for Democrats to retake Congress in 2006. Clark is starting to reach many of the softer core FOX viewers with his common sense straight up logic, and he reenforces that a Democrat can be trusted around matters of National Security. Will it help Clark get elected President in 2008? That's an interesting question. It certainly would help him win the General Election. If enough Democrats can appareciate the service he is providing all of us by constantly refuting the Republican spin machine on FOX, maybe it would help Clark win the Democratic nomination also.

6. Thanks Tom...
I don't watch Fox ever.. but if he's able to knock some sense into their viewers, we are better off!

I just think it sucks that his clause said "NO appearances on MSNBC or CNN -- ever"

7. CNN keeps asking Grange who gets things wrong
...but if your Rove, then CNN is doing fine.

I have no clue what Clark's arrangement with fux might be, nor should I. But, I catch the videos at Clark's website, and it keeps me sane. I loved when Hannity was trying blame NK on Clinton. The General was having none of it. He said: I participating in that agreement, I don't know what you were doing at the time, but that is not what the agreement said." Praise the goddess.

9. He most likely has renewed his contract.....although, I couldn't guess

as to the terms. What I have noticed is that he has appeared on more "primetime" shows than before recently.

I have also noticed that his "talk to Iran" advice did catch some steam.....and his 2 party talks with North Korea with Carrots and sticks has also...

So I do believe that he is effecting Foreign policy for the better (since if up to Bush we might be bombing by now......cause Bush ain't got a clue--nor those who surround him)although he will never get any credit for it.

I also believe that Wes is the one Democrat that Democratic candidates running in "hard to win" areas really want appearing with them (and folks, those are the seats that we need to win to take back congress). Sure, other Democratic potentials are "Donating" money to various congressional candidates.....but they aren't being asked to do actual live campaigning--which is the test of perception and examplifies that clark's got that advantage in spades among the "potentials".

Will the Fox Gig help or hurt his chances for '08?
Hard to say.
I have always believed that Clark would be a strong Presidential candidate in a general election but have a much harder time in a primary.
Why?
Cause many Democrats don't ever truly believe that National Security is ever the issue....even when it is...which explains the popularity of a Warner or an Edwards potential run.

Will national security be the main issue in 2008?
I believe that it will.....as it is the gift that keeps giving to the Republicans, no matter how incompetent they are. It has been tattooed on the "en masse" voters forehead that Democrats are just weak in that area.....and of course the media is there to assist.... Why would Republicans stop using the only thing that seems to work? They won't.

To be frank, I think that Wes Clark has media issues.....they will and have never "promoted" him except for a short time prior to his entering the '04 primaries. It was all "downhill" after that in terms of how the Media chose to report on Wes Clark. Still, he did damn well "in spite" of the media then....although it was still too late, and him not being in Iowa gave the press the perfect excuse not to report on him....

Even as you say Larissa, that Clark can't appear on the two other cable stations, it doesn't stop him from appearing on the Networks, which have more viewers. Problem is that they don't invite him to appear often (far as I know).....and I think there is a reason why......

The media have already determined that they will be touting Clinton, Warner, Edwards and Bayh...candidates that can be painted weak or ineffective in National Security, and who all supported the Iraq war to some degree until it went sour.

So in the end, Wes Clark can only be a candidate if enough "people" wants him to be due to the media ignoring him for the most part....meaning if enough people buy into the media selling us that Wes Clark is to be ignored....then, he will be.

Appearing on Fox, if nothing else, gives Clark a national voice on National Security issues and puts out different well thought out approaches than those imagined by the Bush admin. I believe this is most important.....even more so than Wes Clark running in 2008.

So me, I believe that Wes Clark needs to be heard nationally.....and if that's to be on Fox, then so be it! :patriot:

11. Y'all were just "smart"....that's all!
Strategic thinking in order to win election is not always the Democratic Party's calling card...unfortunately! :(
