Clark: Participate in Podcasting about the 2006 elections
Wes Clark is doing a podcasting series on the 2006 elections and WesPAC wants to hear your thoughts on the 2006 elections.

Whether it's about a candidate you are supporting, the election itself or issues that the election needs to hinge on, here's your chance to speak out!

Why you think the 06 election is important. What issue you care most about (e.g., Iraq, healthcare, wiretapping, economy, etc.) and why you care about that issue. Finally, it's your chance to talk about your favorite race/candidate. Tell us why you support your favorite candidate and how you're helping that candidate win in November.

You don't have to be a Clarkie to participate - he wants to hear from as many people as possible, whether they're in the Clark Community or not.

Email commonvoices@securingamerica.com for instructions to record your audio.

1. Idea
Why doesn't he come here? Why is it we have to go there? Here is where we are, they should come see us. Its really quite easy to do... posting here.. what are they all afraid of? Are they really afraid of us so much that they can't step up and be with us here?

2. Wes isn't afraid of posting...

He's blogged live at WesPAC, WAPO, TPM Cafe, and DKos. I think this is a bit of a different format, though... this is a forum, not a blog. I'm only guessing that's why more politicos don't post here as opposed to those other places.

4. This is about getting OUR message OUT to MORE people.
Clark sends out pod casts on a regular basis to a large audience that includes a lot of people who don't come to DU or kos or even his own web site routinely. His casts are listed at the Ipod store, and they rank very high there on the list of non music commentary casts. What he is planning to do with this cast is include voices from the roots talking about the issues that matter to us, and then send that out over the Ipod network. This is an invitation to participate in making that happen. And though it's true that likely more people may respond to this invitation than can be included in the final edit, those who do respond will at the very least be heard by the Generals inner staff, and possibly by him personally.

You know it's been confirmed by good sources that General Clark reads the comments bloggers leave at the Clark Community Center routinely, often a few times a day when his schedule permits (those "sources" include General Clark, his son, and his core staff by the way). Clark is always listening, but this is also a chance to get more of our own voices out to more people through more channels. I think it's great.

6. A podcast is an audio recording.
Other than that, I'm not sure I understand the rest of your message.

3. My response: VERIFIABLE ELECTIONS
I believe the most important aspect of the 2006 election in the U.S. will be whether it will reflects the will of the people. While there are so many important issues that effect the American people, we will not be able to make changes until we can assure our elections are fair, transparent and verifiable. The GOP has adopted at "win at any cost" strategy for gaining control of the government. They have used the most UN-AMERICAN methods such as challenging minority voters, dirty tricks, mis-allocation of machines in precincts that do not support them, caging, purges of registered voters, directives to suppress certain segments of the population and other despicable attempts to maintain power.

As an nation we allowed this to occur in 2000, 2002 and 2004 to disastrous results: the immoral war brought on by cherry picked intel, the huge deficit, the corruption that abounds, the response to Katrina, the outing of a CIA agent for political revenge and so much more. This all occurred due to a willingness to disregard the effects of election fraud. We must stand up and take back our country through demanding that elections NOT be privatized to partisan corporations. We must demand that elections must be verified and transparent. I recommend that there is a national push for hand counted paper ballots, counted at the precinct level where the public is allowed to view and videotape the counting procedure.

Only after we regain control of our elections, can confidence in our government occur. I believe the will of the people will change the direction that this country has so wrongly taken.

9. I'd like to participate but don't know what a pod cast is or how to
use it. Do you have to buy special gadgets? I tried downloading Clark's pod cast that Tom recommended but couldn't get any picture or sound. Bummer! Don't laugh...but I'm old fashioned and not up to snuff on all this new fangled computer stuff.

10. Participating is the easiest part
I think all you have to do is call a phone number and leave a taped comment. You may need to have a friend help you down load and listen to the final podcast when it is released to hear if your comment got used, but you won't need any help to contribute to it! Read about how to participate here:

http://securingamerica.com/ccn/node/7352

There is an email address there that you use to contact Larry who will then set it up for you to record your comments.
