Just SEVENTEEN WEEKS to go... How are YOU helping Democrats win in 2006?
You love America, right? I mean, if you’re a Democrat, I bet you do!

So... have you put your love for America to good use lately? In other words, have you helped the Democratic Party win big in 2006?

There are no excuses; it is up to us to help Democrats win back Congress and to stop Bush from wreaking even more havoc on this country.

Oh, and by the way - who doesn't want John Conyers and Henry Waxman as committee chairs?

I:

1. Filed to become a precinct delegate;
2. Donated to the Michigan Democratic Party and Granholm for Governor;
3. Wrote a couple letters to the editor;
4. Signed up to volunteer on a couple campaigns; and
5. Started blogging on a couple Michigan-related blogs.

Now what about you?

1. I pulled down a George Allen for Senate sign
on my lunchtime walk around Alexandria, VA. I know it's not much, but it sure felt good.

2. I don't think it's a good idea for DUers to break the law
I'm sure it felt good but we shouldn't be tampering with campaign signs.

15. it's never too late jobycom!
Even if you just donate $25 to your favorite candidate or cause or give one day to phone bank, canvass, attend a fund raiser - it all matters!!!

Don't be afraid to call your County party or visit their website to find events that you can attend and start becoming involved. I live in a small, rural, red County - they have limited funds and volunteers. it took me a couple of events before I got on their mailing list, but now.. I'm on the Executive Committee!!

7. I'm working with The Colorado AFL-CIO
Interviewing candidates for endorsement, and further supporting them in the fall to help the Dems keep the State Legislature in their hands. We are NOT, however giving them a pass for selling labor out in the last 2 years. I'm legislative chair for my local, and I'm running it like they've never seen before.

We have already endorsed for US House...
Angie Paccioni - to unseat Marylin Musgrave, the theocratic bitch who obsesses with gay people and does nothing else.
Bill Winter- to unseat xenophobe embarassment Tom Tancredo
Ed Perlmutter-- to take the 7th that Bush rubber stamp Bob Beauprez is vacating for a run at the Governorship
Mark Udall- longtime supporter of labor, and a good Democrat to keep his seat
Diane DeGette- to keep her seat. Even if Colbert wants her to join the mile high club
John Salazar- more labor friendly and liberal than his Senator brother, he deserves re-election.
All Democrats

For Governor- The VERY pro-Labor Bill Ritter. Democrat

Taking an election campaigning class in a couple of weeks.

In the fall, I'm doing what I always done every two years. Walk neighborhoods, drive voters to polls, man phone banks, march in parades. I started doing something about this year in March, by lobbbying all my reps in Washington DC. Where have you been, Mr. My Shit Don't Stink?

Colorado can turn blue this year. We're that close to the ridge. I'm not about to miss this for anything!:D

actually - precinct captain in my very small, rural precinct will probably be just me and another canvassing. We do have a lot of unfilled precincts - so I'll help with organizing canvassing for them and help cheer lead.

I'm sure your donations are very much appreciated! I understand about spreading out the donations to fit your budget!!!

You can also volunteer with your local party to canvass, phone bank, help with fundraisers, events etc. and it won't cost you anything.

Thanks for all you do!!!

19. Illinois Dem Net!
People in Illinois, especially in the Chicago area, have a valuable resource which will open up myriad opportunities to get involved. Some of them are small things you can do a la carte such as flyering drives for Rod Blagojevich - there was one just this past Saturday. Look in the left top margin for the events list: http://www.illinoisdemnet.org

31. Bought a box of Kotex.
Everytime I see a Bush bumper sticker, I slap one over it. Ok, not really, but some guy called in to the Stephanie Miller show today with that suggestion. At that moment I happened to be driving to work in the rain. And all I could picture in my mind was what would happen to the kotex in the rain. Had me giggling all the way to work.

Actually, just did the July fourth parade float with the signs and posters of candidates, throwing out candy to the kids, spreading some good will, etc. Soon it will be time to go around with the door hangers.

I'm coordinating one race and District chair of a 14 county District, so I'm just too damn busy. Got regional fundraising events for our US House candidate but it's the day to day of the state House race that eats up most of my time. Oh yes, filed to be a precinct delegate too.

Reading all the posts in this thread has been bery encouraging.

She's running for U-M Board of Regents.

She sounds like a good alternative to DeVos campaign chair and Little Caesars CEO David "Hot, But Not Ready" Brandon, who currently sits on the board. A Democratic incumbent is also running for re-election.

If I am able to go to the convention, I will vote for her.

called Not So Fancy Farm. We held it yesterday. Even though there were big storms and heavy rain pelting the region, we had a good turn out.
Before all this I have been doing voter ID/voter registration, helping pick and develop candidates through our local DFA chapter Change For Kentucky. http://changeforkentucky.com/ From here on out I will be working to build CFK and canvass for the candidates our local chapter will be supporting. (Andrea james, Tom Blues, Chris Frost)

Our top speaker was David Sirota, author of "Hostile Takeover."

42. John Pavich for Congress
Will be working for John Pavich running against Bush sucker Weller in the Illinois 11th.

Many letters to the editors.

Joined another group in Lake County In to turn Indiana blue.

Next week will be going to a MoveOn house party on how to take back the media.

The people I have met have been a joy and I have learned a ton.

The lesson is, don't give up no matter what happens. The Repuke Revolution didn't happen overnight.

So if LIEberman wins, don't kill yourself. Keep fighting
