Questions hover over Reed campaign in Ga.
Former Christian Coalition leader Ralph Reed, whose campaign for Georgia lieutenant governor has been clouded by questions over his ties to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, is promoting himself as the candidate with "stronger values."

His opponent, state Sen. Casey Cagle, has responded by calling Reed's campaign ads the "height of hypocrisy" and questioning publicly whether Reed could be charged with wrongdoing during the run-up to the November general election.

Reed seemed unstoppable last year when he first announced his intention to run for the seat. In his first campaign for elected office, he broke early fundraising records and scared other would-be Republican contenders out of running in the July 18 primary.

(snip)
The field of Democrats in the race likely face a tough challenge regardless of who wins, because of Georgia's recent Republican tilt. But that hasn't stopped Bobby Kahn, chairman of Georgia's Democratic Party, from attacking Reed's work with a "superlobbyist" and Cagle's pro-banking voting record

2. I watched the live debates on PBS the other day.
I can't or won't vote in the Pub primary, but I'm torn of whether I want Reed or Cagle to win.

I REALLY don't want to take a chance on Reed getting elected in Nov, so in a way, I want Cagle to win.

On the other hand, I think it would be easier for the Dem to win against Reed.

3. Argh! I'm torn too! Reed or Cagle?
I may (and I stress may) vote in the Republican primary just to cast a vote for or against one of those bastards. The only contested partisan race in my city is among three Democrats for Soliciter General.

I do know I don't want a Republican SoS. The SoS is in charge of the professinal licensing boards (I'm licensed in GA) and I must say SoS Cox has done a pretty good job in that area.

I'm torn. I want to vote for Mark Taylor but I'd hold my nose and vote for Cox in the general election in order to get rid of Perdue. Oy! What a nightmare our Diebolded lections have become. :(

6. First poll I've seen with Reed trailing
Albeit by one point. 42-41. A new Strategic Vision poll: http://www.strategicvision.biz/political/georgia_poll_071206.htm

Admittedly I don't know anything about Cagle but hard to imagine he's worse than Reed.
