Rove's New Strategy For '06? Recent Developments That Make Me Wonder.....
1. The Army is discontinuing a controversial multibillion-dollar deal with oil services giant Halliburton Co.

2. *'s backing down to SCOTUS and following the Geneva Convention for Gitmo

3. * talking about diplomacy with North Korea

These are just three developments I've observed in the last couple of days. Put this together with the recent Friday reports of terrorists in America - the Miami 7 - the New York Tunnel Flooders.

* is going around the country talking in a conciliatory manner - (i.e., I shouldn't have said "Bring It On", etc)

Is Rove trying to take the wind out of the Democrat's sails going into the '06 elections?

2. Short memories act in his favor unless Democrats rake
the GOP over the coals.....

Maybe all this is this year's version of all the "compassionate conservatism" crap dished out in 2000.....

4. Immigration
The stance that the repugs have taken on immigration, bothers me. It seems that with the pres saying he wants what the dems want, and the rest of the repugs on the opposite side. This way they can cover all the bases. At least on this issue. Seems like this would be a no lose situation for them.

6. These things to confuse...
I also had the sense that the Republicans while calling the Democratic proposals "Cut and Run" were simultaneously beginning to make some apparent moves towards making plans for troop reductions...

Perhaps just smoke and mirrors like everything else they do, but all these efforts, it seems to me, are likely to be sufficient to keep the wool pulled over middle America (primarily the already firmly deluded Republican base)... It's going to make arguing the truth all that much more difficult. True Rovian bullshit, lie like there's no tomorrow and then make up clever lies to cover your real intent and previous lies; as in, lies within lies within lies surrounded by lies but framed to exclude truths and designed to deceive.

It's getting so that everyone needs ongoing advanced training in linguistics, advertising, communications and critical thinking just to be able to keep discerning the bullshit from the roses (thank you turdblossom).

8. It's all lip flapping and arm waving. Election Theft is the RNC strategy.
Edited on Wed Jul-12-06 04:50 PM by McCamy Taylor
Do not forgot it. With the Republicans poll numbers, W,'s poll numbers, the off election year, there is no way in hell that Congress could keep from falling in Democratic hands UNLESS the GOP resorts to massive Election Theft and Rove and his rich, Republican backers know it.

He just has to pretend that he had some issues that changed the minds of the voters so that he can pretend that they voted the way that the finally vote tally come outs.

But you know what? We are on to him this time. WE CAN BEAT ELECTION THEFT THIS YEAR. There are law suits all over this country, people acting to stop criminal SOSs. I am seriously expecting a nationwide march to focus attention on Voting Rights before this fall. And Mexico's election is going get some media attention up here sooner or later.
