Barbara Lee will be speaking at our church this Sunday |
|
at 11:00 a.m.
It is her church as well.
I am the wife of one of the ministers there.
Considering all of the talk here at DU about Obama speech and Religion.....I'm sure that Barbara Lee will have some interesting things to say on that suject! As she is Black, a Democrat and religious, it will be interesting to note her approach as compare to Barack's...since not all Black folks think alike! :)
If you are interested in attending, and are in the Bay Area at the time, drop me a PM.

4. certainly, I will. She's a forceful speaker...... |
|
but she hasn't spoken at the church in a while, although she has attended.....and was there for the baptism of her (grown) son a couple of weeks ago.
Even if she doesn't speak on the topic of seperation of church and state....or the Evangelical Right, I'm gonna make sure to ask her about it personally.

6. I know it's a lot to ask, but if (and ONLY if) you can remember, can you |
|
send me a PM when you post that so I can be sure to read it?
If you can't, I certainly understand. It's not for you to have to make up for my lack of ability to remember to pay attention.
Thanks either way.

7. Well, you can be sure that I will post AFTER Sunday..... |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-12-06 09:02 PM by FrenchieCat
So the easy thing to do is just check my journal after Sunday......because if I post it, I will add it to my journal as an entry most likely on Monday....or if earlier...then Sunday night (Pacific time)! http://journals.democraticunderground.com/FrenchieCat

5. Ray! That's my man from way back..... |
|
figuratively of course!
When there was no air america....and when Bush was stealing the first election, he was the only "Ray" of hope that I could find anywhere, including TV! :headbang:

Barbara Lee is a brave and honorable person. She has never sold us out that I know of. Yeah, do ask her about the separation of church and state. I don't know how you're feeling about this, but I don't appreciate the entire conversation. It is as if we are accepting the right wing myth about Democrats. I've gone to church all my life, and I don't need a lecture on being religious.

14. Well it is hurtful that the right wing fundies and the Right Wing |
|
government are emerging as pimps of religion. It is really giving the love of God a bad name! :(
