Et tu, Jon Stewart?
The Daily Show has jumped on the two-man race thing- Kerry & Edwards, with Clark completely discounted.

it's mind-boggling.

20. If Stewart's a whore... I want some of that..
Okay.. sorry. He's just so damn yummy! I've never found that show, or Stewart to be particularly biased in any direction. It was probably more about simplifying their news, and picking up on news that was already out there. I'm not happy with the rush to make this a two-man race.. but it sells better in the media.

3. Time to write to him.
I doubt he's intentionally whoring; maybe he was unusually lazy and didn't consider how the facts contradict the media on this one. He might react well to emails.

4. He's not a whore. That title is saved for Russert.
Stewart takes what is currently in the news and mocks it.
That's how his show always works.

6. "The Daily Show" is a parody show, not a news show
Although, ironically, it seems to have better news than anyone else at times, but at heart it is a parody, and therefore has NO obligation to the public for fairness.

10. yes, but-
TDS, especially w/Stewart has always had an extremely left-of-center liberal bias, and as such it just seems odd that they would so easily dismiss the Clark candidacy. I would expect it from the neo-fascists on the colin show afterward...but not jon...:(

7. That tie in OK hurt Clark a lot
It's really that simple. While Edwards got prime-time exposure for his win in SC, Clark didn't find out he'd barely won until 11Pm, after most of AMerica was already asleep.

He also takes jabs at the president* from time to time.

I used to despise him. But Retired Bob's OK in my book.

16. I agree. Dole was hilarious last night.
He's one of the few non-despicable repukes I can think of. Can you imagine if Bush had Dole's wit?

18. I seriously believe that Dole was the RNC's official Clark "hit" man.
He appeared on several shows and always said something negative about Clark. Remember when he "baited" Clark on Larry King saying he was going to lose and then told him that compared to Kerry he was now a captain.

When Clark predictably replied that he was was a General and that Kerry had been a Luitenant - that was widely quoted and it had a great deal to do with the media turning against Clark. I believe that this was well-planned. Shortly later came the debate with the Bush AWOL question. It was "do a hit on Clark" week.

Don't forget that Dole also was "trotted out" in Florida during the Florida recount and "stuck up" for Bush. People looked at it as if a "Senior Statesman" was coming out on the Bush side. It helped Bush immensely.

Bob Dole is a Republican shill first and foremost and is still actively "working" for the party. He is a "mean but smart" guy who should NOT be trusted by any of our candidates. Clark should have been wary when he was asked to appear with Dole.

mr. viagra is sitting in a chair, watching a scantily-clad young singer, young enough to be his great-granddaughter, prance around on tv, looks at his lap and says "down boy!" (but...but...he was talking to the dog, wink-wink...)

21. Hmmm.. actually he has been the worst to Kerry.
I'm a Dean supporter, so I'm sensitive to that. He never called Dean "gigantor", the way he calls Kerry. He's been pretty equal in his treatment, I think. And he really had a good time with Dean doing that fake interview.

17. It's a COMEDY show
Edited on Thu Feb-05-04 11:39 AM by Freddie Stubbs
It's not a news program. The show's prupose is to entertain, not to inform.

22. did you see the show in question?
when jon stewart said that it was down to a two-man race between Kerry & Edwards, it was done as part of a serious question while he was interviewing Bob Dole.

It may be a comedy show, but Jon does try to play it kinda straight when he has an at least semi-newsworthy legitimate guest to talk to.

24. It's on Comedy Central
It's purpose is to entertain, not the inform voters or influence the outcome of elections.
