9. John scared freepers
as he should! LOL! I notice that one has to keep bringing up Yoko and saying she's just making money off John. Nevermind that his message needs to be heard!

I would think.

And as far as being in the wrong forum, it was most certainly political.

4. John's political stances
made him mighty unpopular with the Nixon administration, and with the British government as well. There are a few documentaries and books that show how the Nixonoids were concerned that he was going to create serious problems in '72, including helping create an anti-war demonstration at the republican convention similar to Chicago in '68. More, it was thought he had the ability to get the youth vote to show up at the polls on election day, much in the manner he could get them to show up to a concert.

A less well known piece of the effort to deport John had to do with his support of the Irish struggle. His efforts went beyond singing "Luck of the Irish" on Sometime in NYC. John was contributing money to The Good Fight through a network that included one of the guys who was from a Lower East Side Gang that played with the Plastic Ono Band.

6. Yes. Documentary. The tagline apparently is "War Is Over. If You Want It."
The Synopsis:

" 'The U.S. Versus John Lennon' is a compelling look at John Lennon's transformation from a beloved musical artist to iconic inspiration for peace that also reveals the true story of why and how the U.S. government tried to silence him. The film will also show that this was not just an isolated incident in American history but that the issues and struggles of that era remain relevant today..."

7. Very much needed right now
Wish they would release it sooner.

Just watching the trailer put a big lump in my throat and made me sad for the loss of such a powerful voice.

May it open some eyes and hearts and minds.

12. I got a lump in my throat because I realized we NEVER lost his voice...
if anything is lost, it's our voices raised in unison with his. They can't kill an idea. They can kill a singer but not a song.

8. Even the trailer was enough to bring tears.
Will the people go to the streets in this country? I mean in real numbers. Maybe Mexico will teach us something.

10. I saw a trailer for this when I went to see An Inconvenient Truth...
It looks really good. I love John Lennon, and it's an important story that has a great deal of relevance today. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
