Illinois Governor: Blagojevich Now Up by 11
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 09:11 AM by skipos
After trailing earlier in the campaign season, Illinois Governor Rod
Blagojevich (D) now leads Republican State Treasurer Judy
Baar Topinka by 11-points in his bid for re-election. The latest Rasmussen
Reports poll shows Blagojevich with 45% of the vote to 34% for Topinka.

Edit: I guess the Bush appearance helped Blagojevich more than Topinka. We need to get Bush to campaign for more Repubs.

1. Good point, skipos. The more Dubya shows up for Rethugs, the
worse they poll.

I'll chip in for his next visit to Ohio or Missouri...

5. If he does, he'll be our fourth or fifth ...
... Illinois governor to go up the river.

There was Kerner, Walker, now Ryan is waiting for sentencing, and I think there was one before Kerner too. But that was before my time.

The motto for the Governor of Illinois should probably be changed from "Land of Lincoln" to "Will the defendant please rise".

Fitzgerald's office is digging very deep into the hiring practices, awarding of state contracts and contribution patterns now. It does not look good right now. But he can still beat Topinka.

Hey, Stroger won his primary for Cook County board President after what appears to be a totally debilitating stroke.
