They have a strong arsenal to defend itself from Hamas, Hezballa and others in the region. When Israel knocks it knocks hard. The U.S. will have to take a position carefully and suggest a diplomatic end. However, Israel has among its weaponry nuclear capabilities. Provoking them in this way is not a smart move. Israel is on ready for something like this and prepared to try destroy any threat.

the Lebanon war lasted almost 20 years and didn't end too long ago.
In fact the Hezbollah leader just taunted Israel's PM and defense minister about their lack of experience.
