For decades the members of the REPUBLIKLAN Party have called the party that I joined in 1972 the DEMOCRAT Party. Well that does not appear the name of my party which should properly get called the Democratic Party.
I encourage people to contact their congressmen and women and senators and the press and say:
Until the members of the REPUBLIKLAN Party stop using the incorrect term for my party we will refer to their party the REPUBLIKLAN Party and see how they like their party named slurred as they do mine.

The Repugs have been using language techniques like this for decades. It is very effective. We need to fight fire with a nuke for a change instead of just accepting it.

5. It is a subtle, nearly subliminal attempt to frame with language -- |
|
to indicate that they are anti-Democrat while not being anti-democratic.
Thusly framed they can rig elections, purge voting rolls, buy votes with their lobbyists, and commit any number of other anti-democratic crimes without bringing to mind that what they do is, truely, anti-democratic.
While the bulk of their rank and file may not think in such terms (if it can be said they think at all) you can be certain that those who are guiding the party are doing so -- what was once a fringe of their party has come to dominate, and it is not anti-Democrat, but anti-democratic.

6. That 'misspeak' is no fucking 'nit' |
|
It is intentional. It is persistent. It is universal. And it is intended to be dismissive. It may be subtle, but it is NO nit.

Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 10:33 AM by DinahMoeHum
They can't govern worth shit, they can't balance budgets, they can't fight wars, and they keep giving feckless excuses as to why they CAN'T do these things.
