Blinded by the Right: The Conscience of an Ex-Conservative
That's when he decided to "come clean" and admit that his written trail of smears against Anita Hill and the Clintons were lies.

But what kind of harm had Brock done to America? His lies had influenced what happened in the Thomas-Hill debate and undermined a constitutional process His lies helped to stage the political assassination of a sitting American president and further divide an already badly divided and, thereby, weakened United States. His lies were extremely useful to the misanthropic ultra conservative crowd that would love to preside -- and are beginning to succeed at it with George W. Bush -- over a tyranny of the Right. After admitting all of this lying, Brock wishes us to believe that Blinded by the Right is the truth. So then concerning Brock's implicit appeal for our understanding and seeking redemption for his wrongdoing, I return to Otto von Hoess.

1. Well, the guy took his time weighing in on the matter....
I mean, what's Brock supposed to do? Set himself on fire? Drown himself in his own shame?

At least he gave us a look at the inside of the filthy machine, and he hasn't let time waste, with his work here:

3. there is such a dearth of energy....
regardless of the validity of any criticism of David Brock the fact is he's fighting against the pigreich now, and will sink or swim with the rest of us....to waste time reappraising his misdeeds vis the Big Hate while the pigmedia swarms with haters who lie almost constantly in support of the pigmeisters-well let's not bother.

6. I am always happy to welcome converts.
Regardless of the sins Brock may have committed in the past, the fact is that he's not only come around, he is providing extremely valuable insights about the inner workings of the right-wing punditocracy. He did bad things before; he's doing good things now. "Blinded by the Right" came out several years ago, and based on his work since, I have no reason to believe he was and is anything but sincere. Sometimes people do have epiphanies and drastically change their opinions. I say, good for him.

7. Didn't he write that book like 6 or 7 years ago?
and hasn't he been fighting on our side ever since?

I mean, should he cut off his balls and hand them to you to prove his regret?

I bought the book some years ago, and was thankful that he saw the light. Beyond that, there are is real evil out there to fight. :eyes:

9. The Center for American Progress among others helped Mr Brock
get mediamatters up and running.

They do some good work pointing out framing and spin for those who still need it.

Hey, they had to find something constructive for all those exClinton staffers to do!
