The Admin's chance to invade Iran, which they would have preferred to do by staging another 9/11, passed in early 2005. It was soooo over by the summer, and absolutely dead and buried by the time Katrina hit and Bush's numbers crashed for good. (By the way, thanks, Presidents Clinton/H.W. Bush! It's great you two could kiss and make up for the sake of civilization.) I was a teeny bit nervous about this June 6, but--look, they can't get it done. Yes, the threat that they would was as real as anything else, but it's passed. Even their support in the pentagon has eroded, which is the end of the ballgame, if you ask me.
