What does 'preemptive' mean? Lissen up, 06 and 08 wannabes. |
|
Not in the dictionary sense. I'm pretty sure we all know that. If not, do some research. Not in the 'war' sense, either. I know we all know what *that* means.
I'm talking about the political sense.
Preemptive means calling them out before they call us out.
Preemptive means putting up hard hitting ads (maybe with flag draped coffins) and not pulling it because some right wing asshole whines.
Preemptive means having a plan in place to **prevent** vote machine/vote tabulator tampering before it happens, not whining about it afterwards.
Preemptive means having a 'Fuck you, I ain't quitting' speech written **before** they flip the vote count in the middle of the night.
Preemptive means calling a lie a lie before you find yourself defending the truth to a chorus of decidedly partisan media hacks with sound bites from some speech you gave 10 or 40 years ago.
Preemptive means having your views out there and answering the questions you want to answer, not the questions that are asked by the likes of Russert and Matthews and Stuffeluffagous.
Preemptive means calling a press conference to call out the other guy before he calls you out.
Preemptive means having dirtbag smear ads ready to roll before you need to run them, and before they run theirs against you (and you KNOW they will).
Preemptive means ....... get fucking ready if you plan to actually win.
If not ... why are you taking up space on a ballot that some other guy might do better with? Yanno? Not a sermon ... just a suggestion.

Preemptive means having a plan in place to **prevent** vote machine/vote tabulator tampering before it happens, not whining about it afterwards. is the one that really means something.
This one, Preemptive means having a 'Fuck you, I ain't quitting' speech written **before** they flip the vote count in the middle of the night. sounds good, but will not mean a thing if they manage to steal the vote. If we don't have some way to prevent it, or prove it in a court of law, all we can do is be sore, like we have for the last 6 years.
All the others, while good enough, make the implied assumption that we actually lost, and that we need to do something different in order to win an honest vote.
