Al Gore for Speaker of the House
Al Gore for Speaker of the House

If we can't talk Al Gore into running for president, that would be too bad. He's one of a very few who could almost instantly help us turn things around for us in the rest of the world.

But Al doesn't seem to want to run for president.

How about this?

We talk him into running for Congress from The 5th district in Tennessee (I think that's his home now). But he does so with the understanding that after being elected, he would be chosen by the new Democratic majority to be Speaker of the House (we might have to put Pelosi in a closet for a couple of months, but I'm OK with that...).

Then, we start impeachment proceedings against both Bush and Cheney (Polluter & Shooter). After they're thrown in jail, Gore would be next in line.

This way, he gets the big chair without going through Florida or Ohio. I think he might go for it.

Brilliant...get him in place, dump the losers, and then Al's the man,
saves the species (if we're lucky) and has some good music in the
White House for a change.

We go from the fire side chat to the weekly slide show ("Power point")

He's the man, let's make him the President in Waiting

We cold all get big clocks and carry them around, tick tock tick tock....

Your time has come and gone *, take a hike.

Fun to think about but this would be a very bold and innovative move.

But Bluesplayer, ya can't lock a lady in
the closet...nope...how about a free ride
on a special cruise with the original cast
of Love Boat (they're older now;))

It's even easier now that I know he doesn't have to be elected to Congress first...

22. Fire side chat?
I wish! The weekly powerpoint is a great idea.

I had this fantasy of a thousand people with 3 Million Candle Power spotlights surrounding the White House.

4. Good plan. But somewhere toward the end of the impeachment
proceedings against Bush and Cheney, can hungry crocodiles be involved?

5. Technically, the speaker doesn't have to be a member.
While it's never happened before, they could pick him as Speaker even if he wasn't a member of the House.

6. He can be a speaker in my house any time.
But I'd rather he be persuaded to throw his hat in the ring for 2008.

8. And the Republican Members of the Senate needed to convict
will go along with a Gore presidency why?

12. well
With a Dem majority (51) plus Jeffords (52) we'd only need 15 repugs to convict.

I'm thinking blackmail. I mean, who really wants to see those shocking college photos of Kay Bailey Hutchison anyway?

wailing children.

16. No
But it would:
1.) make a Dem president happen 2 years early
2.) Get Al in office without the "toxic" campaigning
3.) piss off the tightie righties by using the rules in our favor, for a change

15. hate to break th e news to you
but even if we can recapture the House and Senate, we won't have a sufficient margin in the Senate to convict (assuming the House votes articles of impeachment). And I suspect that elected Democrats, if they recapture the House and Sentate, aren't going to embroil themselves in an impeachment process for the sole purpose of getting rid of chimpy a year earlier. My guess is that the strategy that they will follow is to pass legislation that chimpy will veto, thus building the case for electing a Democrat to the White House in 2008.

And, sorry to tell ya, but the chances that you will ever see chimpy or cheney in jail is approximately zero. Like it or not, in real world, its not going to happen.

19. plus two terms
Brilliant idea! Plus he could then be reelected in 2008 and 2012 without running afoul of the two term limit amendment.

20. I wouldn't be so sure Gore's not running . . .
I have a sneaking suspicion--and a decent source connected with his TV venture who told me--that if Hillary stumbles, he might consider tossing his hat in the ring. I don't see how its possible for Hillary not to stumble with her constant triangulation (UGH!). It's WAY to early to count Al out.

Keep the faith . . . InAbLuEsTaTe

21. If Al decides to run for an office,
I think he should run for President.

I'd rather see Dennis Kucinich as speaker of the house.
