CBO fiscal plan for Iraq: 2007 thru 2016 !!

while i suppose it's always good to plan for all contingencies, it is nevertheless more than a little disturbing to see the Congressional Budget Office developing a fiscal plan for US operations in Iraq that extend through 2016 ...

and even more disconcerting than that, perhaps, is the following gem from the CBO:

. In the case of rapid withdrawal -- troops out by 2009 -- the CBO estimated an additional $166 billion would be needed for military operations ...

2009 is rapid withdrawal ???????????

well excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me ...

i wonder if either party will vote to cut-off funding for this insanity ...
