Dutch will allow paedophile group
Have the Dutch gone off the deep end?

“A Dutch court has turned down a request to ban a political party with a paedophile agenda.
Judge HFM Hofhuis ruled that the Brotherly Love, Freedom and Diversity Party (PNVD) had the same right to exist as any other political party.

The PNVD was formed by three paedophiles in May, prompting outrage in Dutch society.
It seeks to lower the age of sexual consent from 16 to 12 and legalise child pornography and sex with animals.

"Freedom of expression...including the freedom to set up a political party can be seen as the basis for a democratic society," Judge Hofhuis said in the ruling, according to the Associated Press news agency.

"It is the right of the voter to judge the appeal of political parties," he said.
The ruling also noted that the party had not committed a crime. “

1. The judge rule right IMHO
just because they believe in things you don't isn't a reason to outlaw a political party.

Should the Greens be outlawed because you do not believe in Globe Warming.

2. It's the same reason the ACLU defends the right of NAMBLA
to exist and to publish their rubbish as long as it doesn't cross the line into pictures of children being abused.

People can say what they want and think what they want. However, if they start to act it out, the cops will intervene.

The Dutch are simply protecting free expression. I doubt any of these loons has a chance in hell of being elected to anything. The inclusion of bestiality in their platform makes me wonder if the whole thing is a joke.

3. Gotta admit...
It's a hell of a lot easier keeping an eye on people who are in the open than hiding in a basement somewhere.

I wholeheartedly approve of people with twisted agendas being allowed to stand up and announce what they are so the rest of us can be forewarned.

7. No, the Dutch just trust the voters to make an informed decision.

8. Freedom can be painful.
Freedom means if I want to be free to think/say/act the way I want, I have to allow others to think/say/act the way they want. Fortunately, it doesn't mean I have to in any way support their ideas/actions/words; it means I am also free to work against their ideas/actions/words while they may at the same time work against mine.

It's ugly at times, difficult at times and always required so that we're all free.

The first use of the Patriot Act of which I was aware, was against a child pornographer; not a terrorist. Many people were ecstatic that a child pornographer had been taken down. Now I hear of instances of the Patriot Act being used against other non-terrorists such as political dissenters, peace groups, etc. The minute something is used against "the least of us," it creates an environment in which "it" can be used against the rest of us.

Ah, well, there's one less child pornographer plying his trade. And who cares if peace groups are lumped in with child pornographers?

9. Great. They'll get alot of the pedophiles identified through party
affiliation. I'd like to know who they are, if I lived there, just to keep my kids away from them.
