MidEast Crisis to Go: Dick Cheney Could Have Done It With One Phone Call
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 05:27 PM by McCamy Taylor
We all know that the administration has been trying to talk the American people into letting it invade Iran since winter of 2004. That is when Sy Hersch broke his first story about it. The Pentagon keeps telling the WhiteHouse "no". No Nukes. No missiles. No invasion. The American people say the same thing.

So, when Israel just happens to over react to the kidnapping of two of its soldiers by Hezbollah by declaring war on Lebanon, and the Bush administration can not wait to declare that the real enemy is Syria and IRAN and the NeoCons start telling us we need to jump into battle beside our good buddy Israel, it becomes pretty clear that Bush-Cheney are getting exactly what they wanted.

The trouble is that most of the scenerios that people come up with the explain HOW the US could have manipulated events in the mid east are pretty far fetched. They call for US moles in Hezbollah or Israel or Hamas or all three. So many people would have had to have been involved that there is no way that the Iranians would not have figured out what was up.

And face it. Bush and Cheney just arent that smart.

No, I think we are being too clever. Look for the simplest explaination. What was on the minds of the people at the White House one week ago? Answer: the three year statute of limitations on the Valerie Plame case. They knew that if she was going to file a civil suit it would be last week. They knew that the press would be all over that story. It would make the front pages everywhere. Cheney would be the first VP to ever be sued. Libby would face another trial after W. pardoned him. Rove would be BACK in the spotlight.

Then, one of them must have noticed the mess in Gaza where Israel had provoked the Palestinians who had responded leading to another response until finally Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. Imagine the lightbulb shining brightly over one of these three men's heads as some one realized how that conflict could be turned to their advantage.

Dick Cheney picks up the phone and call's some one high up in Israel. The jist of the conversation: "If you want to take care of that problem you have with Hezbollah once and for all, the US has your back. (And you didnt hear that from me)"

Believing that the US has promised it full military support, Israel declares war on Lebanon. Dick, Scooter and Karl have their media smokescreen.

As simple as one spur of the moment phone call for three criminals doing what they do best, covering their lying asses with the blood of innocents in the middle east.

1. Interesting.
I like simple. It has a certain truthiness to it, I must say.
