I want to thank you for all you did to make this fundraising quarter such a success. I entered this campaign as a career naval officer facing a career politician. Few thought our campaign could accomplish as much as we already have. In the five short months since I declared my candidacy, our campaign has exploded onto the national radar screen as one of the top races in the nation -- and you made it possible. Thank you!

Last Tuesday, we announced that we raised a tremendous $700,000 this past federal fundraising quarter, bringing our total to $1.12 million in only five months! In fact, your collective donations and support were so overwhelming that we out-raised our opponent Curt Weldon! Thank you!

This is a tremendous accomplishment that few thought was possible. Let's spread the news! Share our message and our success with the thousands of dedicated Americans throughout the district who have yet to hear about our campaign. Click the link below to tell three friends about our campaign:

Our fundraising success was the lead story in The Philadelphia Inquirer's "Local News" section. As Amy Walter, an editor at the Cook Political Report put it in the Inquirer article:

"For a first-time candidate, it is very unusual to raise that kind of money, particularly against a longtime incumbent."

Our campaign's unprecedented fundraising has broken records for a Democrat in this district. The Democratic candidate for Congress in 2004 raised $27,000, while the previous four Democratic candidates raised only $78,000 combined in the past eight years. I am truly humbled by your show of support.

This campaign is based on a simple premise: voters want change, and they respond to leaders with a clear vision for the future. Every time I visit students, speak with veterans, or talk to the hard-working members of our community, I hear a collective demand for a better direction for our country. And I am proud to say that voters are responding to our message that national security begins at home.

Help us reach more people. Tell a friend about our campaign for change:

Your support has both inspired and humbled me. It gives me the energy to try harder and to reach more people, knowing that so many people are invested in our campaign. I thank you for the faith you have placed in our efforts to get the hard-working people of the 7th District the representation they deserve. I won't let you down!

Warmly,

Joe Sestak
