1. Maybe I'm ignorant
but I don't see how we can have a cease-fire resolution about a war between two other countries. Or do I not understand the concept of "resolution"?

Elaborate?

13. Absolutely
He's by far the best man for the job.

The problem is that the man has no charisma and in this day and age...

19. How can you say that?
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 03:44 PM by Son Of Spy
Have you ever seen him speak to an audience?

I travelled 200 miles to hear him speak in Feb of 2004 and though
exhausted he set down his notes and closed his eyes and talked
extemporaneously for over an hour about his vision for America.
You could have heard a pin drop. Now THAT's a Democrat.

33. True enough, but it actually requires him to be there.
It doesn't photograph, and it isn't something that can be bottled and sold, unfortunately.

32. I think he is one of the most charismatic speakers in Congress
My god look at most the politicians out there and you will see absolutely zero charisma. How in the hell did someone like Dennis Hastert get to be speaker of the house? Even if someone did agree with him he could put a hummingbird on PCP to sleep.

Kucinich on the other hand can rile up any audience he speaks to. Whether people agree with him or not he gets them going. He is one of the most progressive Congressmen out there in a district that is not all that progressive. If he would have been given a chance in the media I really think he could have won, because he is such an inspiriing speaker.

Calling upon the President to appeal to all sides in the current crisis in the Middle East for an immediate cessation of violence and to commit United States diplomats to multi-party negotiations with no preconditions.

(1) calls upon the President to:

(A) appeal to all sides in the current crisis in the Middle East for an immediate cessation of violence;

(B) commit United States diplomats to multi-party negotiations with no preconditions; and

(C) send a high-level diplomatic mission to the region to facilitate such multi-party negotiations;

(2) urges such multi-party negotiations to begin as soon as possible, including delegations from the governments of Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt; and (3) supports an international peacekeeping mission to southern Lebanon to prevent cross-border skirmishes during such multi-party negotiations.

26. That is an excellent resolution!
I can only wish we had a resolution like that coming before our Parliament, sadly, it won't be in session until September.

23. we would love to but...
there is no chapter in his district. no leadership from the grassroots to organize in his district. we at national don't "decide" on endorsements.. we take the local endorsements and run with it. it is a grassroots organization. so once their is some leadership in his district to form a pda chapter to endorse. then we would love to!

24. How about if all the other chapters vote for an exception to the policy?
Maybe someone working on his re-election campaign could be recruited to create a chapter in his district.

SENATE RESOLUTION calling for Iran, Syria SANCTIONS & supporting Israel

Here is the Senate version of the resolution, already passed by a voice vote (so no accountability). Note that it is very belligerent, calling for sanctions for Iran and Syria. (It sounds like this would just be a first step.)

here is the PDF file at CSPAN from which I took these image files for easier viewing:
