Ken Blackwell's controversial new campaign flyer
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 07:41 PM by OzarkDem
His volunteers are distributing it in east Cleveland suburbs, which have high black populations..

It notes, for instance, that Strickland voted against a 1998 amendment that, according to the flyer, “stated that no individual shall be excluded from any program or activity authorized by the Higher Education Act of 1965, or any provision of this act on the basis of race or religion.”

Baker said the amendment, which failed, would have eliminated affirmative action programs used by universities during the admissions process.

“It’s just another example of Blackwell’s dishonesty,” Baker said. “Ted supports affirmative action programs."

2. No, but
any blacks who vote for Blackwell in November will actually have their vote counted. As for the others, well they're on their own. Dy-no-mite!

Isn't that the worst thing you've ever seen?

3. Looks like Charles Barkley minus 150 pounds
If that flyer is the best they can do I love our chances. The eye will naturally focus on the image and not the words, so the message is quickly forgotten.

Posing with their certificates to carry concealed weapons; there aren't too many black faces in that crowd.

7. He'll get tons of white votes. If they make inroads into the black vote
we're in trouble.

9. blackwells ideas
he trys to sell his leasing the Ohio turnpike plan by using the fact that ohio is 47th in the nation in education....the problem is, that the gop has been in power for so long that this ranking is naturally attributed to them, as so the bankruptcy, reposssion figures, and the poverty rate... one would ask, why have you and your party allowed this to occur?
