Way to go. Bush goes against the majority of Congress and 70% of American people to push his personal religious point of view. Mr President, where was your veto pen when it came to CFR, bloated budgets, and dozens of other bad bills????

The President, referring to the children present at the ceremony, all of whom were adopted as embryos and now living in loving families: "These boys and girls are not spare parts. They remind us of what is lost when embryos are destroyed in the name of research." I LOVE this brave man.

1. What else would they say? Something intelligent? Something compassionate?
They are Freepers, the souls they have lost have been dead so long they don't even realize they don't have them anymore.

4. How much despair and anger is there among the families and people
with diabetes, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, spinal injuries, etc. today? :(

I hope some organizations are planning targeted ads at incumbents who if they were replaced by Dems favoring stem cell research could override Bush's veto.

5. Today, I went to Free Republic for the first--and last--time.
I swear, Bush could stab a baby to death on live TV, and those people would claim it's another reason to be glad he's in office.

God, what a cesspool! Being there made me want to take a shower.

7. They high-five him for EVERYTHING.
He offends someone?

High five.

He lies about the economy and jobs data?

High five.

No matter what it is, the freeps high-five it.

A few of them attempt to color outside of the lines, and if they persist, they get "zotted" (their equivalent of the DU "tombstone.")

8. I was thinking about Christopher Reeve when I read about the veto...
...he gets up one morning, gets dressed, heads out for a little equestrian activity, and a couple of hours later realizes that for the final ten years of his life he'll never go to the bathroom again without assistance. Never make love to his wife again. Never climb on the back of another horse. Never, never, never. Just a wheelchair and nothing below the neck that moves.

Chris and his late wife Dana were brave BEYOND brave. Despite medical and scientific evidence to the contrary, they never gave up hope. Until the day he died, Reeve said "I'm going to walk again."

He was a vocal advocate of stem cell research. So yeah...no matter how ignorant the freeps may be, I hope NONE of them ever face what Christopher Reeve faced. That will be the day when their dance of joy over the Boy King comes to a tragic and abrupt end.

915 days, 13 hours, 13 minutes, 30 seconds until the Bush presidency becomes nothing more than a bad memory.
