BREAKING: Bush attends NAACP convention and smacks Black Congressman
This man is a walking disaster! I wish I was making this shit up.

U.S. President George W. Bush playfully slaps U.S. Congressman Al Green (D-TX) as he greets delegates following his remarks at the annual convention at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in Washington July 20, 2006. REUTERS/Jason Reed (UNITED STATES)

1. What sort of paternalistic crap is that?
His handlers need to tell him to keep his paws off of EVERYONE!

21. You'd think that would be a simple instruction to both give and follow.
Smacks of paternalism to me too...if you'll pardon the sick early morning pun. ;-)

2. Mr Green doesn't appear terribly playful...
I wonder what would have happened if he slapped him back...

Well, no...I don't really wonder. :(

You need Internet Explorer 6 to watch it, I think.

Bush Speech to NAACP Set, and the Question Begs: Why the Change of Heart?
Date: Thursday, July 20, 2006
By: Jackie Jones, BlackAmericaWeb.com

President George W. Bush’s decision to address the NAACP convention, reversing his five-year refusal to address the civil rights organization, has political observers debating what sparked his apparent change of heart.

Until this week, Bush had repeatedly turned down invitations to address the group, the first president since Warren Harding to do so. In 2004, the president said he declined the organization’s request to address the convention because of harsh criticism by NAACP leaders...

Couldn't get it to open because I don't use Internet Explorer.

That's a shame. I hope the video is available at Crooks and Liars now.

Been a long time since I have thought of that series. But it fits. Bush=massah.. He even has Condi, doesn't he. And he lives in the ultimate Plantation house.

35. Whatever it was....
It obviously wasn't welcome. Would *you* want to be touched in any manner by Bu$h? I feel sorry for people who, for protocol reasons, are required to shake his hand.

guess is that Green recently grew a beard and Bush is kidding him about it.

34. Well. . .
. . .even though I'm the original poster I have to admit that it was a harmless graze of the face that got caught on camera. Let's be honest Bush meant nothing by it, however the photo looks just so bad. I would think if Green said anything he would defend Bush.

18. Al Green left immediately for the river to wash the stink off.
Take me to the river,
Drop me in the water,
Take me to the river,
Dip me in the water,

(Washing me down, washing me down, washing me down, washing me down)

20. Can the man not keep his hands to himself?
I don't care how many years I'd spend in jail, if that man ever approached me with anything other than an unsuccessful attempt to shake my hand, I'd probably break his arm.

31. No kissing, no touching
(Arrested Development?)

Bush absolutely needs a top ten list of inappropriate touching. He's a big violator of personal space.

No kissing, no touching, no massaging. And absolutely no looking into someone's eyes to view their soul.
