Israel-Lebanon conflict
http://electionpredictions.blogspot.com is a great, neutral election prediction site. Also, the owner just wrote a very interesting post on the Israel-Lebanon conflict. Go to the site to check it out.

Ask the Christians in Lebanon what they think of Hezbollah

Ask the 300 marines that were killed as UN peacekeepers about Hezbollah

As the Jews in Bolivia when their community center was bombed by Hezbollah

Let's give credibilty to the Hezbollah

but do you want to know something, the majority of Democrats and Republicans in Congress support Israel!!!

There is no Bogey men, regardless of what the Corporate media tells us Boo! Hezbollah. Bull Shit.

They have done very evil thing, yes, it's horrid.

However, wrap your mind around the following: The USA War Machine has killed far more innocent civilians within the past four years as Hezbollah has totaled since it's inception. Hummm? ... In fact, more than Hezbollah and Hamas combined.

Oh, but we didn't target civilians. Bullshit argument! They are just as DEAD.

How does it feel to be part of the citizenry of a Country who is HATED by much of the World Community? How does it feel to be a citizen within a Nation that is, without a doubt, the #1 sponsor of State Sponsored terrorism? Either directly (Iraq, Afghanistan) or by proxy (supplying the worlds waring factions with arms)

We are all terrorists here: USA, Hezbollah, Israel, Hamas, etc. etc.

BTW our precious Lebanese Christians put out a statement yesterday to the effect: "Kill them all evil terrorist Hezbollah for Jesus!" Yep, Onward Christian Soldiers. Indeed! :(

5. It doesn't irk the sh*t out of me because, quite simply, it's NOT true
Especially when they participate in aggressive warfare and the indiscriminate killing of civilians.

Please don't insult my intelligence because although the Corporate Media is singing "your tunes" in key, the rest of the world is embracing the unvarnished truth.

The USA and Israel are Military Killing Machines - the biggest state sponsored terrorists of the world community.

The Internet is also getting the truth to the peoples of America, Canada and Israel. We will not keep the same representation if The Congress serve as merely a rubber stamp for The War Machine.

6. look at every poll on the subject, and Americans support Israel
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2006/03/26/america_takes_side_of_israel/

Google it

We will NOT keep the same representation in congress? I guess by your definition Feingold, Boxer, Biden, and every Democrat in the Senate today must be a terrorist since they support Israel

but thats cool, If you think America is the biggest state sponsered terrorist in the world that is ONLY YOUR view

7. I'm ashamed but I still love my country ...
Edited on Fri Jul-21-06 11:31 PM by ShortnFiery
It's been hijacked by warmongers. And no, I don't blame the military at all because they are being misused.

Sadly, I KNOW that My Country (The Military Industrial War Machine) is, in fact, the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world.

I want my country back! As such, I will work tirelessly to help weed out all the Corporate first (and warmongering for whomever - now it's Israel) supporting Congress Members from MY beloved (by me) Country. :patriot:

11. I am thoroughly disgusted beyond words.
I go to bed thinking I can't possibly despise this administration more, and wake up to new outrages. And the Democratic response is appalling. Watching all these people die reminds me of Katrina. My stomach has been in knots. I say we direct the next hurricane through Congress to wash out the dead wood and start over.

14. Yes, and I can respect peoples love and support for Israel
but Please try to reign the leaders in because continuation will not help your cause?

I understand both sides. Guess it's just that when some side is so much weaker, I often times find myself biased toward the underdog.

Dear God, I Pray for Peace.

16. this really is overwhelming to watch unfold
Edited on Fri Jul-21-06 11:45 PM by AtomicKitten
I feel no affinity for either side if truth be told; I'm like that I guess. I can see both sides, but what I really see is the death and destruction. A couple nights ago I just broke down crying watching the news because it is so out of control with little hope in sight.

Where the hell are the peacemakers? Kofi Annan in calling for a ceasefire, even Bill Clinton is, but they are being shouted down by the warmongers.

19. I'm with you on that, AtomicKitten. I'm appalled by our government's
role in the escalation of violence in the Middle East.

I hope for big changes in November.

15. well, being an amerikkkan...
...as an accident of birth, i DON'T love this country, and i'm NOT ashamed of what it does; at least, any more or less than i'm ashamed of what other countries do. My first loyalties are to principles, such as social justice, economic equity, ecological sanity and peace. I am not at all surprised that the majority of my fellow citizens "support" Israel, given the decades of pro-Israeli propoganda they've been force-fed by the media and the politicians.

If i may broach the subject, i would suggest that "terrorism" isn't necessarily in the eye of the beholder as much as it is defined by context. For governments (US, Israel, Syria, Iran, etc), terrorism is a tactic of choice, which is to say, it can be used at the discretion of policy makers whether there is any immediate need or imperative to do so. For nationally-based stateless organizations (the IRA, Hezbollah, and even Hamas--i purposely exclude al-Quada, given its internationalist nature), terrorism isn't a choice...unless the "choice" is between armed resistance and surrender. What is it they say, a terrorist is a man who has a bomb, but doesn't have an air force?

20. The USA does sponsor terrorism though they call it spreading
freedom and democracy.

One day this will come back to bite us in the ass - hard.

12. Better yet ask what they think about Israel
That is the real issue. Some want to roll the clock back to 1948, and never have Israel exist

Until they realize that Israel isn't going anywhere, and accept her existence, then what is their to negotiate

18. A correction
There was no partition in 1967. There was a war. Israel took, by force, the West Bank from the Jordanians, and Gaza from Egypt. For almost thirty years Israel has conducted a brutal occupation.

Yes, israel needs to withdraw to the '67 lines. That however, is easier said than done. Israel cannot, for a host of complex reasons, just withdraw unilaterally.
