Anyone else think Lieberman will become Republican?
Governnor Rell of CT and the state chair of the GOP asked their Senate candidate to drop out due to some scandal. Do you think Lieberman will end up as the GOP candidate? Do you think it could happen if he loses the Dem primary? or something in the future?

6. too early to tell...
...as a practical matter, i would imagine these will be decided after the primary, when all parties have a better, more realistic, sense of what voter sentiment actually is. The GOP candidate isn't necessarily going to step down just because of little ethics problem (think Katherine "train wreck" Harris in Flori-DUH), and forcing the issue might precipitate a crisis within the CT-GOP...the state GOP might not want Joe-nertia, even if he offered himself...point is, any speculation at this juncture is putting the cart before the horse.

7. No. I don't. But I also don't think he cares about whether or not the
dems regain control of the Senate, if he did - he wouldn't be playing the game that appears to be a threat that he would 'throw' the general election to the repub (by party splitting) were he not to be elected in the primary. But as low as I think that is - I do not think Joe would run as a republican.

8. no
The truth is Lieberman has had a very liberal voting record, that is until Junior got his war on, and then it all turned to shit for Lieberman. He deserves to lose his primary challenge and to be retired into oblivion for his tragic support of this immoral and illegal war.

Until BushCo TOOK office, he was a pretty reliably decent Democrat. It's a shame.

But as my mother always said, he made his bed so now he can - and will - lie in it.

10. they'd just toss him to the curb
like a violated junior in HS with her prom dress hiked over her head when all this subsides.

Just like they did to Paula Jones, Linda Tripp, and the rest of the stable of people they used to trash Bill Clinton.
