DUers should rethink "the kiss" |
|
that Bush gave Lieberman.
After seeing Bush grabbing the face of Al Green at the NAACP, we will have to conclude that Lieberman was caught off guard and that the kiss was not between consenting adults

2. Like . . . the Dementor's Kiss? |
|
You know, in Harry Potter novels -- the Dementor's kiss, saved for Sirius Black, that is said to suck his soul out of his body.
Sure, I can see the relationship. :-)

no one in their right mind would consider W an adult.
as for lieberman, he musta mistook W's face for W's butt.
that's my story and i'm sticking with it.

7. I would agree: W is a known serial offender |

Not liking Lieberman should have nothing to do with "the kiss". You can not like him plenty for what the kiss represents, namely Lieberman's quiseling support for Bush's war policies, etc., but the osculum infame itself was not his fault. Many people seem to latch onto the symbol of Lieberman's greater loyalty to Bush against his party.

8. Yes -- The Kiss IS symbolic of the way Lieberman has |
|
consistently denigrated liberals and has gone out of his way to cozy up to the Bushies. He is supposedly a Democrat from a very blue state. There is no reason for him to behave like Bushco's eager lapdog... He is absolutely sickening to those of us who expect Democrats to fight for our interests and not the interests of corporate fascists. The Kiss expresses this dynamic so very well.

9. I don't care about the kiss. |
|
What I care about is the confluence of events.
1. Lieberman's voting record as a Democrat is abysmal.
2. Speechifying that takes him away from the mainstream and puts him in the realm of the neocon right.
3. His announcement that he thinks that his incumbency is more important than party loyalties.
I want him to lose big enough in the primary that he will wake up the morning after the primary and know unequivocally that he has alienated the voters of Connecticut to the point that his most rational choice will be to retire from public life.
Joe Lieberman--Dangerous ideologue.
