Why Did Bush/Cheney Think They Could Get Away With It? |
|
So, the coup against Saddam Hussein and the occupation and annexation of Iraq were the sole contents of Cheney's Energy Task Force Plans, back in the pre-catastrophe days of 2000. This much is hinted, leaked, implied and understood--although why the oil executives haven't been more forthcoming about it (guess they haven't been under a grand jury yet) is a wonder.
What makes them think that the rest of the world would permit it?
What makes them think that Russia, China and Japan would acquiesce to such a robbery of the Iraqi people?
What made them think that the entire Muslim population of the world would sit still for it?
What made them think that the US people (the ordinary, moral people) would go along with it?
And why did they think it would be a cakewalk?
Why did they think the US economy could support such folly?
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!!!!!
Magical thinking, no doubt, with the Rapture as Plan B. Hubris, hubris, hubris and magical thinking.

2. Because they own the media, which means they control the message. |
|
They don't care what the rest of the world thinks, nor do they care about the Muslim population that is sitting on top of their oil.
They just want ALL of the money and ALL of the power and they don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks/says/or does....

...thought, in other words neither Bush nor Cheney, nor Rumsfeld, nor Colon Powell nor Condi Rice gave at rat's ass at the time the plan was assembled, implemented and executed. And, with the exception of Colon Powell who removed himself from playing any further active public role in the administration, (although I do not believe for one second that Powell has changed his attitudes and support toward the Bush administration and neocon policies), none of the players has engendered any difference in their thinking and I believe have been emboldened by their perceptions of how ell they think they have pulled all of this off. The RAT-Bastards!

6. Remember that they have sold much of our infrastructure to |

other countries, put in place the heinous NAFTA and CAFTA treaties, built secret camps, talked about building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico while at the same time meeting with Canada and Mexico to form a North American Union, to name just a few other things. So while much of the world is focused on protesting the wars the U.S. is involved in, the Neocons have gone behind the scenes, while attention is diverted, and put other things in place. The PNAC isn't having a real easy time of it on some fronts, but on other fronts, they are just waltzing in and doing whatever they want!

The ultra-right wing runs the entire country. What exactly makes you think they didn't "get away with it"?

9. Alert!! They *HAVE* gotten away with it. |
|
And they continue to get away with it because:
* Democrats are being feckless scaredy cats. * The media is being controlled. * People are ignorant of the facts.
If any of these three things changes, the other two change as well.
We try to change the first and the third. We are making a difference, but the going is slow. The best we can do is to keep trying. Eventually, we'll change things. Hopefully, in November.

10. It Only LOOKS Like They Are Getting Away With It |
|
Every action has a reacton--and the reactions to this incursion have been swamping BushCo right and left. They have sown disaster, and will reap a bountiful harvest. Unless all the co-conspirators plan to do a Ken Lay, there will be retribution for this generation and the next. It will be a tsunami of consequences, and those people most hurt by this folly will see to it that the perpetrators get their just rewards.
Take the money and run? Where to? Where is there a safe haven for such criminals? Nowhere they would like to be, I am certain.
