Finally! A video "greatest hits" of Lieberman's most traitorous moments |
|
Of course, they couldn't capture ALL of his treason and backstabbing and his lovefests with Sean Hannity. But they put together some clips that show in a nutshell why Lieberman is so widely despised. The video is entitled "The Joe Lieberman Sucks Video." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMhN3mP_w6Q

12. That's a matter of opinion. The music is certainly appropriate. |

...although it's chopped up badly for the video.
The basics were good, I just wish it had been more polished.

17. So that whiny, annoying death ballad is Avril Levine! |
|
Well, I know who to avoid. Not only her, but the video editor, who was so in love with her voice that he kept up her audio level, even over the places where people were talking.
I agree that the video tells an important message. I also agree that the music was the same kind of whiny, pitying ballads they run under the episodes of "Grey's Anatomy" operating room sequences when someone is about to die on the operating table. Except the editor of the Lieberman piece didn't run it under the sequence, he blasted it out.

5. I am uncomfortable with the word "traitorous" in this context. |
|
We criticize our opponents for using this kind of inflammatory language--consider Ann Coulter as an example. I would expect that people would realize that there is nothing constructive about labelling political opponents with terms like traitor, treason, etc. These terms mean specific things, almost none of which are "political opponent'.
I say this fully realizing that people have the right to say what they want and that we often use such terminology to punctuate a political point. However, since the opposition uses these same terms in a very serious and grave sense, I would prefer that Democrats would use terminology which is more in line with actualities.
Thank you for paying attention.

... the term is intended to mean "traitor to the Democratic party" rather than the Republican over-usage of "traitor to the country".

.. I think "treasonous" is fine. He IS a traitor to the Dem party, he's already made that abundantly clear.
I'm swimming in schadenfreude at his current misery! :)

I'm not sure of the fine differences between treasonous and traitorous, but I think either applies to Lieberman when it comes to his conduct toward the Democratic Party.

14. "Treason" has a very specific, and legal, definition. |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-24-06 08:10 PM by longship
"Treason" is defined in the Constitution.
I would much prefer that it's usage be limited to that usage, and not to inflame political rhetoric. All my previous caveats apply, of course.
I would just prefer that the two parties not get into the "traitor"/"treason" rhetorical argument. It strikes me as like one of those Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck did/didn't games. It neither advances the discussion nor does it cut to the core of the issues. It's mere gain-saying.
I also have a very real problem with Democrats stooping to the level of the shameless neocons.
For what that's worth...

The Sunday morning talk show where JL says they will not contest 'military ballots' even if they were cast days after the election.
