More Important Legislation: Pledge of Allegiance - Jurisdiction Stripping
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/nationworld/bal-te.gopcourts23jul23,0,4752330.story?coll=bal-nationworld-headlines

Judge (my boss, federal district judge): have you heard about this ridiculous bill the house just passed?
Me (lowly intern): no, judge
Judge: apparently, they want to strip us of jurisdiction over any complaint challenging the pledge of allegiance?
Me: sir, are you serious?
Judge: Yep, I mean, what if they change the pledge to say "I pledge allegiance under Jesus Christ, our lord and...."
(Big Laugh all around)
Me: I don't think it'll pass the Senate sir, it's just so plain stupid
Judge: not any stupider than what they've been doing lately
