Last Updated: 24-July-2006 19:00:08
Assistant Secretary of State David Welch, speaking to reporters travelling with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on her Middle East trip, said the US package would include 100,000 medical kits, 2,000 plastic sheets and 20,000 blankets.
He said he expected a total international aid package to reach at least 100 million dollars, adding: \"It may go as high as 150 mln usd.\" The experience \"of being in Beirut makes it very clear there are some series humanitarian problems,\" he said as Rice arrived in Tel Aviv after making a surprise visit to Lebanon.

What to do to prepare for a chemical or biological attack
* Assemble a disaster supply kit (see the “Emergency Planning and Disaster Supplies” chapter for more information) and be sure to include:
* Battery-powered commercial radio with extra batteries.
* Non-perishable food and drinking water.
* Roll of duct tape and scissors.
* Plastic for doors, windows and vents for the room in which you will shelter in place—this should be an internal room where you can block out air that may contain hazardous chemical or biological agents. To save critical time during an emergency, sheeting should be pre-measured and cut for each opening.
* First aid kit.
* Sanitation supplies including soap, water and bleach.
