Cannon fodder for Wingnuts : Illegal immigrants responsible for Ca. fire

ALPINE, Calif. (AP) - Fire officials are seeking additional manpower to battle a 15,400-acre wildfire near the US-Mexico border.

The Horse fire has burned 24 square miles of brush and chaparral in the Cleveland National Forest in southern San Diego County. About 780 firefighters are working the blaze, which is only five percent contained.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the blaze, which may have been started Saturday by an abandoned campfire set by illegal immigrants.

Elsewhere, in the Los Angeles area, a new fire erupted in Benedict Canyon above Beverly Hills and Bel Air estates. Fire officials say the blaze burned about 25 acres. It has been fully contained.

anything can set it off. It's good grist for the mill to blame it on the illegals though so they always go that route first.
