1. What was the topic this morning
On Washington Journal, the Israel-Lebanon conflict has been the call-in topic for over a week now. The last time WJ did that was right after 9/11. It's beginning to look, more and more, like they've been "talked to" by the White House. All those administration officials right after the call-in segment; how can they be impartial?

2. He's taking all kinds of calls. Just said, "I'm the chief law enforcement
representative for the country." He's full of himself-reminds me of Il Dunce.
One caller asked him why he wasn't 'controlling' the Mexicans, was it because he was a Mexican himself?:eyes:

3. This is an appropriate accompaniment
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/25/AR2006072501308.html

"Alberto Gonzales is achieving something remarkable, even miraculous, as attorney general: He is making John Ashcroft look good."

4. If that wasn't so sad,
it would be hysterically funny.

Gonzalez is a smarmy, slimy, ferret-faced weasel. I cannot abide him or his immoral policies. Ugh.

5. Why isn't Bin Laden on the FBI's 'Most Wanted' list? Was that
guy cut off? I didn't hear a valid answer...

8. No, I don't think the guy was cut off. The rest of his question was
"when he contacted the FBI to point out this error, he was told they are just a law enforcement agency, andit's the Justice Dept. that would file charges and declare someone to be on the Most Wanted list."

Gonzo said there are such things as sealed indicments, and just because charges are not made public doesn't mean they don't exist.

Clever sidestep that didn't answer the caller's question. Gonzo intimated there was a sealed indictment, but didn't actually say THERE IS!

He also did a hell of a tap dance around the "signing statements" issue, and his response that "we all know the President would NEVER do anything that was unconstitutional" damn near made me fall off my chair!!!!

9. Thanks for filling in the blanks, napi21. That man must be

13. that might be some consolation...
...had he not previously been George W. Bush's personal attorney and then President George W. Bush's White House Counsel.

Bogus. Nobody believes him anyway.

10. Did anyone hear the woman who called in from Texas?
It was a Bush love fest and I couldn't help notice how much she sounded like Laura Bush. One giveaway was the way she pronounced "many." Pickles always says "minny." Did anyone else hear the caller and think the same thing? I swear it was Laura.
