2. For my fellow Georgians...
...and to all of America's progressive dems:
I am new to DU and am an intern for John Barrow’s campaign for re-election in Georgia’s 12th U.S. Congressional District. We are in an extremely close race – one of the most watched in the country this coming mid-term; where every little bit counts – and need all the help we can get.
This is your chance to help us make a difference and fight the right! And there are a few things you can do from your computer!
First, if you are in Georgia, we need volunteers. The campaign website has all the information you need.
Second, the campaign is looking for some technical assistance; website development, support, etc. If this is you, please e-mail Friends of John Barrow at campaign@barrowforcongress.com.
And last, for now, we are having trouble with underground/grassroots groups spreading vicious lies about Congressman Barrow. The two biggest problem sites are www.bloggingformax.com – a blog that spreads nothing but pure lies about the campaign; they are the National Enquirer of South Georgia – and www.peachpundit.com – a statewide blog that helps the evil right by trashing Georgia Democrats.
We need to stop these lies and publicly counter the Republican hate. What we need you to do is fight the culture of corruption and using the truth to beat these frauds at their own game.
More than anything, just keep on doing this; engaging in collective, open discussion only exposes GOP lies and venom for what it is… EVIL! Keep up the fight against the right, support your Democratic candidates, and let’s win in November!
Any questions, concerns, information, e-mail me at SGaFightinDem12@yahoo.com. Thanks!

3. Maybe if she had debated him in the first place
she wouldn't be in a runoff. Clearly she felt she was way ahead and ran accordingly.

4. I thought I'd heard somewhere that they'd knowingly scheduled the
"debate" for a time when she coudn't attend.

5. I find that pretty hard to believe
She did what a lot of incumbents do. She sat on a lead.

6. I thought I'd read on the challenger's site that there had been more than
one debate scheduled, and she'd stiffed them all.
