who would YOU pick for president, vp, and ALL the cabinet posts? this
is an interesting exercise, and a great party game (although it could get a bit intense) without ANY regard for politics, or parties, meaning that the people you name wouldn't have to be politicians, could be anyone in the entire world (we'll overlook the constitution for just a moment, this is, after all, just a game)

who would be the best choices for each of those positions and why?

1. I think
I would go with Feingold and Obama in the #1 and #2 slots. Holbrooke at State (heard him talk once, just great), Clark at Defense (obvious expertise in the field). The Bill Moyers thing floating around the last day or so is really interesting (heard him talk last year and he is impassioned) so I would like him in a key cabinet post just don't know which. Michael Moore as Sec of Labor, may not be overly polished, but seems to care about the common man. Kucinich in a key cabinet post, don't know which one, maybe HHS. I would like to see Andrew Bacevich in the Defense Department as well. Those are the ones off the top of my head. Given time I might have others.

Sec of State: Bill Clinton! (I can dream!)

Atty General: John Kerry.

And Dennis Kucinich heading the NEW Department of Peace! ;)

I'd have to think about the rest...

4. hard to come up with all those...
Gore as Pres...
Clark as VP? - not sure on this...Clark is also a fave of mine for Pres.

Head of the EPA - Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

State- Bill Clinton (though UN Ambassador would be another possible post for him) - be good to have someone the world respects, and who has some political/diplomatic ability in this position

Most positions, I just don't know enough about the credentials various possibilities bring to the job.

This might be a weird idea, but John Danforth as Attorney General? If investigations into the abuses of the Bush Administration were pursued by a Justice Department headed by a Republican, it might look less partisan.

6. Takes a LOT of thought!
Right now, I think I prefer Bill Moyers for Prez. He's a very intelligent man, but he eally IS a uniter, and I think he could do wonders to improve both Domestic and international relations that Shrub has totally destroyed over the last 6 years!

Joe Biden would do well as VP since i think we need someone with International as well as military experience, along with a strong personality.

Jack Murtha to head DOD because he operates on logic and the military respect him.

Howard Dean to head HHS because he has some great ideas for improving the efficiency of the US HC system, and knows how to get things done.

Max Cleland as Sec. of State (if he'd physically be able to do it.) He also is a very rational leader, and could do well negotiating peace and good will in the world.

Bill Clinton as UN Ambassador (If he would consider it.) He's the best negotiator I've ever seen.

Patric Fitzgerald as AG because he not only knows the law, but isn't afraid to enforce it!

My brain is tired now, so that's all I have.

9. for what it's worth, here are a few of who I'd like and why
John Edwards for President. He's a very knowledgeable and articulate of virtually all issues.

Hillary Clinton - VP. Would be a good liason between Congress and the WH.

Bill Richardson - Sec. State. Great political resume.

Gen. Clark - Sec. Defense or UN Ambassador. We need someone with a sound mind and intelligence.

Sen. Biden - Whichever position Gen. Clark doesn't want.

Anyway, just a brief off the top of my head wish list.

13. wow.....Cuomo.
I wouldn't have thought of him, but I really like him.

I think my lineup would have been

President Clark -- to satisfy the national security freaks

Vice President Edwards -- because I believe in his war on poverty as a winning issue based on the Democratic strategy paper developed on americanprospect.com

Secretary of State Joe Wilson

Treasury Robert Reich

Attorney General Gary Hart

Homeland Security

Commerce

well, I'm running out of steam. This is hard.
