Although we here already knew she was way in over her head, I just read where she's probably on her way out.

Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed the administration’s national security and foreign policy agenda.

1. If she's out, what do you think this
Edited on Wed Jul-26-06 02:30 PM by Totally Committed
will do to her much-vaunted Presidential candidacy chances? Still think she'll be on the ticket?

3. I never thought much of her becoming more than she is now.
Never thought of her on a presidential ballot.

7. Can you imagine a Republican voting for a black woman for President?
I can't either. It'll never happen.

12. No way, but in a poll I saw last week,
She was #3 behind McCain and Giuliani. I was shocked.

2. people think I'm crazy cuz he's so decrepit
but I think Cheney's going for the Gold--he'll pick himself as president in 08, and damn the defibrillator!

Don't think he's nutty enough? You haven't been watching.

10. Sure he's nutty enough, but I don't see it happening.
His poll numbers are much worse than Shrub's!

When I read about him falling asleep at meetings and pale and tight his skin is stretched, I truely wonder if he will even be alive in 08! I really don't think he's going for the gold.

16. Since we're speculating here, I think Cheney is perfectly capable.......
....of declaring "marshall law" just about election time and temporarily appoint himself WH resident - and that temporary status just never ends. That I could easily see happening especially if they can arrange for another "terrorist attack" on US soil.

11. Since when has incompetence been a firing offense, though?
This crooked administration is riddled through and through with people who can't do their jobs properly, don't have the sense to ask for help, or don't even have the brainpower to figure out how over their pointy little heads they are. Dr. Rice's deadly incompetence, like that of George Tenet and Michael Brown before her, is just the way they roll in the Bush leagues.

6. I doubt Shrub will dump her. That's just not his style!
She's been a buddy of the Bush family for many years! Longer than Rove I think. I also think she's in way over her head but so are a lot of the Shrub team.

8. They want to push her out and get on with bombing..
Korea and starting more wars, especially Cheney who is calling the SHOTS anyway. When someone finishes their term their term is done, Grinchwich should shut his damn mouth. I heard something about they can still come to the floor in the house, but they aren't elected so why are all of these former Nixon and Reagan warmongers setting policy.

If they haven't been elected for anything they should not be deciding whether or not we go to war or not, they don't ask our opinion and we and our family members are the ones they want to fight there wars.

13. Perhaps they're pushing her out,
because she doesn't agree with Cheney? This is their style, and she may be in disagreement with Cheney on how to handle the ME. Just saying, since we're all guessing!

14. more from the article for those who just like the meat of a story
The conservatives, who include Newt Gingrich, Richard Perle and leading current and former members of the Pentagon and National Security Council, have urged the president to transfer Miss Rice out of the State Department and to an advisory role. They said Miss Rice, stemming from her lack of understanding of the Middle East, has misled the president on Iran and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

"Condoleezza Rice has moved from the White House to Foggy Bottom, a mere mile or so away," Mr. Perle wrote in a June 25 Op-Ed article in the Washington Post that has been distributed throughout conservative and national security circles. "What matters is not that she is further removed from the Oval Office; Rice's influence on the president is undiminished.
