Rice denied on Thursday that Washington had been on its own.

"Yes, there were a lot of countries calling for an immediate ceasefire. There were several that did not," Rice said.

"It was not all countries calling for an immediate ceasefire," she said, adding that failure to engineer a cessation of hostilities that would last, would only cause future bloodshed...

4. What the hell does this stuff mean?
"Every time there is a broken ceasefire, people die and there is destruction and misery."

"Yes, we want to see a ceasefire urgently in this region. Let's create the conditions this time that will make this an end of violence."

Is that Ricespeak for, "Let's do nothing unless it's guaranteed to work out the way we anticipate it should." ?????

:wtf:

5. Her BS is outrageous...
Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 01:05 AM by Mr_Jefferson_24
...a cessation of hostilities is the first order of business when any conflict breaks out involving large numbers of civilians being put in peril. You IMMEDIATELY call for a ceasefire and do virtually anything to bring it about, allowing civilians to evacuate and/or find reliable safe haven, and then work from there for a diplomatic solution. This is a no brainer, it's basic, it's fundamental, it's Diplomacy 101.

There's no excuse, she has none. She's an absolute disgrace.
