1. Right Bu$h's high approval rating!! |
|
Well the dem's do have a large tent, but if one not allowed to vote because they broke the law, well that's tuff. Oh, Bush's high approval well that article was dated January, 28 2004. Things certainly have changed in just two short years.

do serial killers "deserve" the right to vote? no, they don't "deserve" much of anything.
but does the GOVERNMENT deserve the right to take away the vote from selected subjects? ESPECIALLY when the basis of said disenfranchisement (who gets felony convictions and who doesn't) is something the government can manipulate?
this is a clear and obvious form of government tyrrany, and we tolerated it ONLY because the direct victims are unsympathetic people.
but just imagine the power you put in the hands of government when you approve of this crap. just imagine the government deciding that certain hints of liberalism are felonies, punishable by loss of voting rights.
can't happen here? HAH! it already HAS happened here!

3. Most states allow ex-felons to vote |
|
just not while they are still serving time...that didn't stop the purge in many of those states...
As I recall, aren't rights suspended while serving time? Yet, I seem to also recall that prisoners have rights, so do they or don't they? If they do retain civil rights, then they should be allowed to vote...
