A few upbeat statements from our Dem Reunion write-up. Smiles needed. |

Please remember our area is so Republican I cried when I starting working on the voter database for our precinct. I was stunned.
So to see these upbeat statements are helping my soul.
"Today we had our Democratic Family Reunion event that Howard Dean and the DNC asked us to organize. We sent out 1,058 post cards!! "
"It was so great to see Democrats working TOGETHER!!! We had a good turnout, lots of new people, really good food and, most importantly, ENTHUSIASM and FOCUS. (And two County Commission candidates working with us)."
"My friends, today, for the first time in such a long time, I felt hope. I felt the way that I did when we had our Dean for America Meet Ups and wrote to voters. I thought it was so neat that Gov Dean has brought his ideas to the national level. I was so proud to be associated with him and his ideals."
There is more but that sets a good tone. Long way to go, but some hope.

1. Keep hope alive, Madfloridian!!! |

And THANK YOU for all the work you do!
I live in a district much like yours...ENGULFED by Cons to the point that we rarely even see a Democrat on the ballot! Two minutes or less in the voting booth on primary day for a Democrat around here. But we're making progress!
It's tough when you're in the thick of it. And every day, week, month, and year that brings more people willing to fight and vote for our side makes it worth it.
Hang in there!!!

3. After reading DU today, I don't think there is hope. |
|
All the hard work that went on yesterday means nothing if, according to DU, our Democrats don't speak out against Israel. They are not going to do it. None of them are.
They are not going to come out in favor of a terrorist group, they would be in deep trouble. They passed H.R. 4681 this week, and I think they passed a resolution forbidding any congressperson to speak out in support of Hezbollah. Not sure of the details.
But at DU there is no middle ground. I think it is scary, and I think it is the worst I have seen it here and across the internet. We have our Democrats in a terrible bind.
It is like yesterday and all the work we did never happened at all. I came here today and just felt sad.

2. We did well at ours too and Dh got enough five dollar contributions to |

finish filing for our "Clean Elections" funding. The odd thing was, few of the people who signed up came and tons of other people who did NOT sign up arrived! And it was a gated community that needs an entrance code and they got in! Go figure. It was still a success. Good luck to you Mad Floridian and thank you for your efforts. I know how tough it is .We are in a Repug dominated area as well, but we are going to win anyway. We actually have more Republican support in terms of actual work being done then Dem! Seems they are sick of all this and mad as hell. This could make the difference!
