MLK's Autobiography
I took some time recently to distance myself from political events & discussions because I was becoming too emotionally involved. It almost seemed self destructive. In the interim, I read MLK, Jr's autobiography which details his journey to non-violence as an 'intellectual path'. I thought that odd, an intellectual path. However, upon completion of the book, I understand the rationalization. Violence only creates a means for response. Think of MLK's tactics to create social change in the 60's. His methods were not passive acceptance of the status quo but rather a solid resolve to counter his adversary and expose them for what they were.

Truth is power & always overcomes malevolent forces.

1. I think that if he had lived, it's likely that he'd have become America's
first black president. You agree?

2. I would like to think so, Redstone
I so hate that the visionaries and morally just are eliminated prematurely.

3. Would have been a hell of a thing, wouldn't it? But you KNOW it would
have been a death sentence for him. The crackers would just NOT have been able to stand having a black President.

Probably wouldn't even now.

4. You're probably right
I recall my parents stating (w/obvious pride) that there were no black people in our community. I viewed that attitude as hateful even as a child. As I became a young adult, I began to correct my parents not to teach racism to my children.

Sometimes change occurs slowly as an older generation passes away along w/their racist attitudes.

5. Uh... I agree. And, perhaps that's why he was eliminated?
Just saying.
