Poll question: How serious is the rift among Dems on Israel?
Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 11:08 AM by TOJ
The recent escalation, and the entire Israel situation, is divisive even among partisans like us. How serious is it?

3. Why would Dems vote for the GOP over the Israel issue?
Seems like both elected Democrats and Republicans agree that Israel has done no wrong.

Those of us who think their response has been WAY too disproportionate and want to see a ceasefire are as disgusted with one side as the other.

Am I missing something?

6. Don't get me started on that stupid "Nader was right" bullsh*t!
I would stay home and, for the first time in my life, not vote at all rather than throw away my vote on Nader. He's a cynical and dangerous egomaniac.

18. Let me just ask you...
How the hell is a vote for Nader going "to stop this genocide against nonisraelis"?

And, please... I am asking you this totally seriously, and respectfully... please think about it carefully... Do you really think the Middle East would be on fire like this right now if Gore had won in 2000? Do you honestly think that all this hell on earth was worth Ralph's feeling he had to prove his point? At what cost did he just have to run in 2000? And then, again in 2004?

The man is unhinged.

5. Good point
I guess the lobbying is affecting both sides of the aisle, but I also think that AIPAC is mostly associated ith the GOP and the neocons. These flame wars that we're having on the current Israel activites would never happen on freakrepublic.

11. No
That is pretty much how I see it. I am disgusted by both parties' support of this atrocity in Lebanon.

9. It's necessary. We need to begin to treat Israel like a country instead
of a religious entity. They need to be held accountable for their crimes just like the neocons in this country need to be held accountable.

15. I'm not going to answer cause I think anyone that would vote
GOP because of this issue may not have been a liberal in the first place.
