... would your opinion of him change?

Mine won't.

1. Mine won't either.
Lieberman is a lost cause in my opinion. I only regret I can't actually vote against the SOB to get him out! But I know the good people of Connecticut will do the right thing and put Lamont in - he deserves the chance to make things better for all of us!

2. Probably a moot point...
Lieberman voted for Bolton as Undersecretary of State in 2001, and intended to vote for him in 2005.

So, unless he changes his vote solely to please liberals, I doubt this will be an issue. And, say what you want about Joe, he's at least the kind of guy that votes his beliefs -- he doesn't usually cave to outside interests. So, he'll probably vote for Bolton and further alienate anyone to the left of Fred Phelps.

7. That's only partially true..
Feingold did not support Bolton's UN nomination.

He did vote to confirm the man in 2001, but that should be put in context. Feingold was surprisingly concilliatory in the initial days of the Bush regime, also voting in favor of nearly every other Bush nomination, including yahoos like John Ashcroft. Like many other Democrats, it was only after Bush and his crew demonstrated their incompetence and corruption that Feingold took a closer look at Bush's nominees.

6. Let's see him vote to continue debate first
There have been several instances where Lieberman has eventually voted no on one of Bush's hideous nominees, but that vote came after the horse had safely been stolen from the paddock, and latching the gate with a no vote became superfluous.

In any event, I don't see Lieberman voting against Bolton, either to continue debate (that is, against cloture) or against the nomination itself. And if he did vote to continue debate and then voted against Bolton's nomination, at this late date, I'd think he was merely voting in a cynical attempt to curry favor with a constituency that he has largely lost over the past several months. So, no, it wouldn't change my opinion of him.

8. At this point it would make no difference.
He has made his bed, and there is very little he could do to change my mind.

To change my mind, he would need to reverse himself on the Iraq War; admit his mistakes in not supporting the effort to stop the nominations of Gonzalez, Roberts, and Alito; admit that his support for the republiKlan effort to keep Terri Schiavo alive was morally wrong, and apologize to Bill Clinton for his comments about a personal and CONSENSUAL affair.

No Joe, you can pound sand.

9. Nope, there's
nothing he can do, now.

Fortunately for him, I don't vote in his state.
