I'm Becoming Completely Disgusted With The Human Race..... |
|
what with all that has gone on since 2000 - the lying; the stealing; the torturing; the spying; the killing; etc. Today I heard the straw that broke this camel's back.
The Yesha Rabbinical Council says - "During time of war the enemy has no innocents."
I'm sure this was said to counteract the bad press Israel is getting because of the Qana bombing over the weekend.
These are holy men - and they condone killing. I don't get it.
I also had the occasion to spend some time with Repug friends over the weekend. They are well to do. Their kids don't have a worry in the world. Both are of the age they should be serving their country - but both are out living the charmed lives that their parents are also living. All are completely oblivious to anything that is happening in the world. All they care about is their own little world around them and that everything fall into place. As long as they have money, health, home and their extravagances they're happy. Don't let anything burst that bubble.
I'm sick of it. I read and listen and interact and worry about all that *Co has brought down on us. I don't even sleep well anymore. I don't have any fun. I can't have fun as I feel guilty that I'm having fun while innocent people - both soldiers and civilians are dying for - nothing. I'm withdrawing into my own little world - because I can't change people's opinions and I just get ostracized for doing so. Why even try anymore?
When will people wake up? Will they wake up?
I'm almost becoming supportive of some sort of thinning of the herd down here. Maybe that will finally wake people up and stop all these wars and killing.

The Orwellian irony of that statement overwhelms me.
Sort of like "we had to destroy the village to save it," huh?

2. Well Hillary Says "It Takes A Village"....... |
|
excepting that the village is hearing the call and it isn't helping.
So maybe the next book should be called "Take Out The Village"

3. If there's a "good" reason, killing seems to be acceptable these days, |

even among those who should really know better. Has everyone in the religious community taken leave of their senses? Killing is not permitted in most of the organized religions I know of.
I really do not understand this whole killing/violence/abuse scenario. It's time for the world to get back to basics, and fighting isn't going to get us there.
Meanwhile, while we're killing each other, Mother Nature may be making her way toward killing ALL OF US due to our foolishness and disregard for the environment. The bombs and the fires they cause aren't helping the environment...
Edit: spelling.

I know it is difficult At this time To watch the horror And indifference to it And lies about it As your soul aches But do not give up Do not give in Stay present Express yourself From your heart That is all you can do We are with you People of Conscience Will demand the killing stop And the perpetrators identified To hang their heads in shame That they have brought us To this dark place again.

"People of Conscience Will demand the killing stop"
You will demand? (presuming you believe you have a conscience)
And then they will laugh. (the killers)
And then you will ... ?

I will never give up... I will continue to voice opposition... I will continue to point out the other way...negotiation I will write poetry about the viciousness... I will speak out in public I will do everything in my power to shame the liars
Will I win ? Yes, because I was true to myself and my beliefs. The outcome is in the spirit's hands.
Here is what I mean... World Opinion UN Condemnation US population Opinion Iraq Veterans for Peace Cindy Sheehan Women in Black Code Pink 911 Truth
When the backers of these wars no longer feel safe themselves behind their microphones, bunkers, armored limosines, slogans and lies, I believe you will see a change.
We MUST challenge the lies and tell the truth, as 'inconvenient' as that is.

10. Human nature hasn't changed. |

People have always been the same: selfish, greedy, cheap, vain, vulgar, willing to do just about anything they think they can get away with, venal, jealous, envious, and all the rest.
