4. Won't happen. Both are Dems and know that Bush has got to go |

Getting rid of Bush is more important than their egos. Both are honorable men and that's why I like them.

One wonders why they'd still be loyal to the party

32. How exactly have they treated them? |
|
We nominated Gore and did our best to get out the vote for him, but alas, his campaign was not quite as smooth as Bush's.
As for Dean - I don't think his support has diminished or anything. I think it's more that his support remained in the activist wing of the party but did not transfer to the larger electorate, which is not the fault of the party.

As Bush's approval rating continue to decline, there's no reason to think that the sanctioned dem ticket would be the only chance to oust Bush.

17. It might be a break for Bush |
|
If two anti-bush tickets split the center/left electoral votes, then Bush wins, even if he is way low in approval. In fact, that might be the only thing that would save him.

if all he garners is the 29% of the electorate who identify themselves as conservative.

14. Bush's ratings aren't going to get that low |
|
A Gore/Dean ticket would only siphon off enough of the Democratic vote to guarantee another four years of Bush. Not "cool" at all, I'm afraid.

Lets fracture the 50% Democratic vote 7 ways from hell while * has a unified party. Thats a swell idea!

Look, I like Dean a lot, but there is soooo much more at stake this election than whether or not my guy wins the nomination.
Solidarity.

You realize that if no one gets enough electoral votes, the House elects the President.
And you do know who controls the House?
