I think that Bolton has gained from the recent battles |
|
he had a lot of exposure and did not generate the image of a raving lunatics that he was portrayed during the failed confirmation
I don't remember whether his confirmation ha become final, since it started as a "recess one" (or whatever the correct term is).
(And, please, do not comment that any one defending Israel is a raving lunatic... unless you want to lock this thread at the bud which is your prerogative, of course).

2. he has improved, but only in comparison to the other wingnuts |
|
in the administration.
Look at Gonzales. a smile, a shrug, and boom, another constitutional protection goes up in smoke.

Looks like the same old Dolton to me. It may be that he looks better by comparison with some of the other loons that have come out of the woodwork of late, Krauthammer for example, Dolton sticks to his script better than most.

6. he is not a positive force at all |
|
it reminds me of wrestler that wins on size alone, he pontificates and does not negotiate, it's like an amateurish imitation of Conde, she shrugs but at least has some savvy, a small amount, neither one are adequate to the task.

7. He does not have the capacity to "improve"-- |
|
but he is wily and probably has been ordered to keep some of his evil trickery under control. He probably has some instinctual will to survive--the hearings. And he probably thinks he needs to keep this job at least for now so he can go back to business as usual when things are not so heated up.

8. IIRC, his recess appointment is over when the next Congress |
|
convenes on January 3, 2007. The pubs are pushing the confirmation now in case they lose Senate seats.

9. Shows you how well the media kept the FACTS of the Bolton hearings from |
|
the public.
Kerry called out Bolton on his lies, and Bolton was clearly agitated. That should have been the story.
What did the media report? There was a leak in the ceiling.

10. Oh, please! Bolton is an enabler of war crimes and is a neocon lunatic! |
|
This piece of shit deserves the gallows, much less the UN ambassadorship.

11. How's that? His goal is still to prod Iran and Syria into war and to block |
|
the UN at every turn. How has he improved? Because he enables Israel?

13. The high cost of marginalizing the UN |
|
is the message the public needs to understand.
Bolton's insistence in not working with the UN and other allies is putting a staggering debt on US taxpayers for years to come.
Its criminal and unnecessary to ask voters to keep paying for all these costs. The news media should be harping on this constantly.

that the ever-expanding debt that the US has with the UN outweighs any other consideration.
