How does Ambassador Lieberman sound..... My prediction |
|
I predict that Lieberman will NOT run as an independent, but after he loses the primary, will get a plum ambassadorship posting by Bush.
Think about it, he would sail through the Senate, and once posted, No President Dem or Repug would remove him from the post. Maybe an ambassador to Israel... The pay and beanies are nice, especially if you have a Sugar Daddy with big bucks to upgrade the standard housing given to an ambassador.
And an ambassador can work less than a Senator.
And Bush can claim he put a Dem in an important and critical post.

Bushco never reward anyone who hasn't paid them the big bucks. Joementum ain't a Pioneer or Ranger so far as I know. They will be more than happy to see him thrown under the bus, so to speak. They might give him a speaking slot at the next puke convention, though, maybe a tag team of Jomentum and Zellacious to talk about how awfull the democratic party is...

12. It's never, ever about what someone has done for Bush |
|
It's always and only about what they CAN DO for him.
No point in rewarding him -- if he's no longer in the senate, he can no longer help the Bush plans. Where's the point in giving him anything then?

4. Dunno, I think he adores Israel, but |
|
I don't think he'd want to live there.
My guess is that he'll get an ambassadorship, some nice cushy slot in Europe.

Wishful thinking that he would be kidnapped by Hezbollah.
Make him retire.

11. First of all, the primary has not passed yet. |
|
It's not over until we know the results on Wednesday and while I am cautiously optimistic I'm not ready to celebrate.
As to what would happen to Lieberman if he loses I really believe that he will no longer have any value to the Republicans so why would they reward him? That would be assuming they like him because they just like Joe! I think they "like" him just because he is so easily used by them. He is the good Democrat and the Democrat the Republicans can say is bipartisan. He is their Democratic tool. But if he loses the primary and subsequently does not run as an Indy (I think he will get very heavy pressure not to) then what is he worth to the Republican Party? I think...not much.

21. Why not the newest columnist at the Weekly Standard? |
|
Kristol slides ol' Joey a nice severance package at his magazine, either writing for or as the Middle East editor, for all the crap he did bashing Clinton, protecting Rumbum after Abu Ghraib and every other mind-numbing fault the man's undertaken in his time as Secretary of Defense, and basically acting as the Dems biggest knuckle dragger leading up and long into the war in Iraq. He may piggy back off Kristol once in a while on "Fox News Sunday." He saves himself the gruff of damn near every Democrat walking God's green Earth "picking on him" and be able to kiss the ass of his new Republican masters for some nice $$. Also, he'll have better job security since he'll act as Kristol's token "Democrat" there. The Jackass-in-Chief won't have his hands on this I believe. It'll be like an initiation at a fraternity. The underlings (Coulter, DeLay, el Pigman, and Bill O'ly crap he's a douchebag) will lead with the paddles and sharp anal probings if Lieberman loses on Tuesday.

25. There is no real political benefit to Bush to do this. |
|
Bush only acts on political opportunism.
The time it would have worked would have been a) when he was running for reelection, and b) when Sen Lieberman was a sitting dem that would be replaced by a republican governor (giving an additional repub vote to add to the senate majority). That wasn't going to happen, as Sen. Lieberman was pursuing his own presidential dreams (for a minute).
There is not much (if anything) to be gained by Bush. Can't see it happening.
