10. That's basically the margin I was thinking
I'll say Lamont 52-48.

For some reason I doubt the double digit margins, partially because I always believe everything tends to return to the beginning at least partially, so the guy who had the 65-19 lead probably maintains more strength than the latest polls suggest.

But I've never studied primaries extensively, and until a month ago I never thought Lamont could win, so I could be way out of sync on this race.

18. Summer Crow Kabobs
Summer Crow Kabobs

Ingredients
16 pieces of crow breast meat (no bones) (8 crows)
16 pieces of green pepper
16 cherry tomatoes
8 button mushrooms
8 ears of sweet corn
1 1/2 cups of Teriyaki sauce
1/2 cup melted butter
8 kabob skewers
Preparation
Cut each piece of crow in half and place in a covered bowl with the Teriyaki sauce over night. Clean and cut each ear of corn into 3 pieces. Cook in boiling salt water for 10 minutes. Alternately put corn (3 pieces), green peppers (3 pieces) and cherry tomatoes (3) along with 4 pieces of crow meat on each skewer. Use 1 mushroom to top each skewer. Brush with melted butter and place on preheated grill for about 4 minutes. Flip, butter again and place back on grill for another 4 minutes. Repeat one last time for a total of 12 minutes or until they appear done. Serves four adults.

Save some for me. I had the same prediction.

5. Lieberman 53% Lamont 47%
Edited on Sun Aug-06-06 09:42 PM by David Dunham
I predict what many would see as an upset. I think that Lieberman's speech today with Max Cleland endorsing him and his being critical of the war, together with the numerous "Vote Joe" signs and phone calls, will put Lieberman slightly over the top. Lamont will run well in the wealthier suburbs such as Westport, but Lieberman's base has always been with the blue collar and minority voters in towns and cities like Norwalk, Danbury, New Haven, Waterbury, and Hartford. Given all the publicity the primary had had and the forecast of good weather for Tuesday, I think that there will be an unexpectedly high turnout for a primary. The more people who vote, the better Lieberman's chances will be.

8. Yet a blue collar Windsor led the dissent at the Dem Convention and I
think it has grown louder in the blue collar areas. I live in rural CT and see only Lamont signs and did some calling today for the town dems to let the voters know where the polling places are and it is running 60 40 Lamont.... I can only hope Lamont wins by 10+ if not Lieberman will take it as an Ind.

9. Gee, I got him by 14
I reasoning was that the latest poll has Lamont at 54-41 over Lieberman, 54 + 41 = 94 and 54 is 57% of 95.

Of course, I guess 12 points is within the margin of error.

15. Squeaker...50.2 - 49.8
Lieberman...

Were I a resident of Connecticut I would vote for Lamont based on Lieberman's determination to go Indie if he loses...we do not need a Democrat not committed to the Party...but

It does seem like Lieberman's gotten his legs under him now, and I think it is going to be very close!

by at least 11 points. It'll probably be closer, but I'm hoping for AT LEAST and 11point margin.

22. Republicans cannot switch parties to vote at
this point. They would have had to do it no later than May 8. What is up in the air which the polls don't take into account is how all the Indies that registered as Democrats will vote. I am still optimistic that Lamont will win, but if he does I do not think it will be a blowout.

I don't follow Connecticut politics all that close, purposefully so in this case actually. From the fews articles I have read however, it seems like it will be a close one!

19. A Squeker
I will peg it at 53-47 Lamont, with the closeness due to the surge in support Holy Joe is getting from GOP crossovers who fear losing a senator who so often votes with their interests in mind.

How many trillions of dollars will the GOP raise for Liebermans independant run? Bet those fat corporate wallets will be opened up wide and fast to help their good friend Joe.

24. Lieberman 51%- Lamont 49%
It's going to be close because I don't think people are changing their party (from Repub/Indie) affiliation JUST to vote for Lamont.
