Bush's popularity plummets amoung young Americans
This president is unpopular to those at any age, and now especially unpopular among those aged 18 to 24. From Bloomberg:
President George W. Bush's hopes of attracting a new generation of voters to the Republican Party may be fading, as younger Americans are far more critical of his job performance than the broader population.

A Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll of Americans age 18 to 24 found Bush's approval rating was 20 percent, with 53 percent disapproving and 28 percent with no opinion. That compares to a 40 percent approval rating among Americans of all ages in a separate Bloomberg/Times poll.

(snip)

The war in Iraq is also a major factor driving down public opinion among young voters, said Hans Riemer, political director at Rock the Vote, a group that works to get young people involved in civic life.

"Young people take it very personally," he said. "They feel like it's their generation that's been asked to sacrifice."

(snip)

If early indications are a guide, Bush and the Republicans also have a challenge with the next wave of young voters. The poll found his approval rating was 21 percent among those age 12 to 17, with 44 percent disapproving and 35 percent having no opinion.

4. How low can you go?
The sad part is history will remember Bush for all he did wrong. he is not hurting himself he is hurting every American & the world at large. Good to see young people realizing the errors of his ways.

12. hitler was 56 yo when he died....
bush is pushing 61 now...the point is that people think it's bush who's denigrated in any comparison with old adolph, but i beg to differ- hitler would be humiliated to be xcompared to a slackjawed ninny like bush (had hitler used his talents for good, well...ok, he'd have been a minor civil servant or sometrhing, maybe a small bizman, but still, if bush relied only on his talent, and merits, he'd be peddling one of those ice cream carts, at best)

7. Here's the scary part
<<A Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll of Americans age 18 to 24 found Bush's approval rating was 20 percent, with 53 percent disapproving and 28 percent with no opinion.>>

Who the FUCK are the 28 percent with no opinion? If the draft is reinstated, I hope they're the first to be shipped off to Iran!

10. I'll take a bit of a contrarian view of this .........
I'm not taking issue with anything said, and certainly welcome the trend ...... but ..... I am made to wonder about the underlying reasons ..... having one child in that age range, two who were there within the last 6 years, and having been there myself at one time in the ancient past, I wonder if this isn't more a reflection of the 'rebelliousness' that is a normal part of moving from adolescence to adulthood.

14. I think it has a lot to do with the fact
that they are the most "draftable", don't you? A lot of them are "getting" that with this Bushie Bunch, they are probably next to go if the wars and occupations continue.

Let's hope this is reflected in the next presidential election, and not just seen as a fluke in the Bush administration only.

TC
