Someone tell me the diff between Kerry and Cheney's positions
on gay or lesbian marriage. As far as I can recall Cheney favors equal rights for gays and lesbians and gay and lesbian civil unions but is against marriage for them. So how are Repubs going to beat Kerry over the head with this issue if it is the exact same view of the opposing party's Vice President?

1. Kerry is
from MA. Guilt by association. Doesn't matter what he says or what he believes. He will be linked to gay marriage just because he's from MA.

8. LOL don't know about that but there is clearly an element of making

certain adjustments to the constitution, to facilitate implementation of the overall plan.

The "gay marriage" debate is not about gay marriage either. It is about removing separation of religion and state and the equal protection under the law provision from US law at the most fundamental level.

9. Yes, on that I can agree
Making discrimination an actual part of the constitution would be, err, blasphemous.

3. I just heard Kerry on WBZ radio.
He said that his position is exactly the same as Cheney's and if the repubs want to take him on they will have to go after Cheney too. That's almost an exact quote.

4. Hadn't heard that - maybe he read my post?
Actually I heard somebody on a radio show, think it was Hannity, ask the question, and he hemmed and hawed and then hung up on the guy.

6. The reason that I took note of it was that Kerry was very firm and
did not waffle one bit!

7. It will be especially hard
Because Cheney's daughter is openly gay.

Hard to gay-bash if your candidate's running mate's child is of the group you're attacking.

unless Cheney isn't the VP candidate this time around
