win as an indie... limpbaugh and hanity will send forth the robots and Joe will take at least 1/2 the repug votes and a ton of the dems... Joe wins by 15% and a solid "D" seat goes "I"... Is that good? Oh yeah, I forgot in PRINCIPLE!!!! We won. I don't want a victory in principle... I want a senate majority.

12. It Does Not Seem Likely To Me, Ma'am |

There are not that many Republicans there. Most of the Democrats who voted for him the primary will not do so over the Party nominee in the general election. Independents are, though most will deny this, mostly swayed by emotional factors, and the most important of these is the aura of invincibility and victory, which Lieberman has lost tonight. It is Mr. Lamont who has that intangible aura about him now.

I am but a neophyte in these situations, so I bow to your sage wisdom. Let us both pray your prognostication proves true in November.
